Yaya's Democracry or Derimocrazy?
My Dear Mbai,
It has been a while, since I last got in touch. This is not because Jammeh and his cohorts have succeeded in silencing me or something. No! no! I am currently out of the Gambia representing the Gambian people excluding Jammeh; for I cannot represent what I deem to be evil. I cannot for security reasons say where I am currently and what I am doing for our country. Yahya may believe that I am representing him but I am not.
In fact, those of us who are away are sometimes ashamed to claim our nationality in the open. The other day I encountered someone whom I told that I was from the Gambia. The question the person asked me was so embarrassing and hard to answer. here it is: "oh so you come from the country where your president cures AIDS? So there is no more AIDS there?. I had nothing to say except smile. From that time on I knew better and know what to tell people when they ask me where I come from.
I am here not representing Yahya but myself and the Gambian people and for the betterment of my family (finance wise). If I had a choice, I would rather be somewhere else than here. It is hard to be online as one wishes and so I have not been following a lot.
However, the other day I read on the observer paper and saw and I quote "my democracy is if you do good, you live in peace but if you do bad, you go to prison". This came from none but crazy Boy Jola Jilanka Jammeh (BJJJ). Here is my question to BJJJ. Who is the arbitrator as to what is good or bad? Are you or are the courts? Why does he not just arrest people and allow the independent courts if there are any now to determine the good and the bad. Sending someone straight to a prison is to say the person has been convicted of a crime.
There are places you send people awaiting trial and not to a prison. Some are held for longer than required periods before being brought to court. Can BJJJ himself be exonerated in all the bad things happening within the country? I don’t think I so for he is part and parcel of the mess. May you all have a good Koriteh.Wasalam.
