“Journalism is an open profession; anyone can be a journalist without undergoing any training or gaining any credentials.” (Stovall Glen James 2005).

“… .The takeover in Guinea had serious security implications for the region. What is evident is that the same pattern is likely to take place in The Gambia in months ahead. Our analysis are  based on well founded security leakages coming from the office of the President. We are not making up stories here. We are merely alerting ECOWAS and other Developmental partners to keep their eyes on The Gambia. Things are not rosy and dandy as portrayed by the Ruling Government.”

When President Yahya Jammeh toppled the 30 year PPP rule, he accuses deposed President Jawara of mortgaging the country.  It was Jammeh’s contention that the PPP should not have privatized some of the Government Departments at the material time. Jammeh went as far as setting up a Commission of Enquiry to probe into the financial activities of former Public officials, under the First Republic. Today, Mr. Jammeh has deviated from the so called “revolution” undertones he used in 1994 to justify the coup. Perhaps, if ejected from office sooner or later, Gambians will know the true side of Jammeh’s corruption web. Jammeh is ten times more corrupt than deposed President Jawara. Jammeh has undermines almost all sectors of development in The Gambia.

Having wrecked our country, Jammeh has now resorted to selling Public prastatals.  It’s unfortunate that none of the privatization has been tendered for. Investors just walk into the state house bribed Jammeh and are awarded with  contracts. Corruption is so endemic under Jammeh’s rule. Jamme's second name is Mr. Corruption. Corruption  is now legalized in The Gambia. The President is openly stealing. His subordinates careless about being caught, because Jammeh inspired them into the looting spree.

Few days ago, we learnt about the demise of Guinean President Alasana Conteh.  An army Captain, who is barely known by Guineans, has taken over the French speaking country. The officer was a pump attendant at Guinea’s army fuel Depot. In short, he was assigned to head the said unit, prior to the coup, which brought him to power.

The takeover in Guinea had serious security implications  for the region. What is evident is that the same pattern is likely to take place in The Gambia in months ahead. Our analysis are  based on well founded security leakages coming from the office of the President. We are not making up stories here. We are merely alerting ECOWAS and other Developmental partners to keep their eyes on The Gambia. Things are not rosy and dandy as portrayed by the Ruling Government.

For so long Yahya Jammeh, has been treating The Gambia as his personal property. He has hired his tribe men to man key positions in Government, in a bid to further grip onto power. The same Jolla clan are going to start revolution in the military. Mark my words!!!! These are patriotic Jollas, who posed as Jammeh supporters, but in reality they hate every aspect of Jammeh.

The International Community-most importantly ECOWAS, should prevail on Jammeh to step down to avoid bloodshed in The Gambia. If Jammeh chooses not to leave now, he might as well be forced to leave office one day. The writings are on the wall for all to see. ECOWAS should not wait for a crisis situation to intervene on Gambia’s looming political crisis. Now is the time to intervene to avoid future disasters.

On a separate note, based on authentic reports reaching this paper, The Gambia Ports Authority, is to be sold to the Dubai Ports World. We all know that the Dubai Ports World is partly owned by the Dubai Government. The same Company lobbied to be given contract in the United States, a move which was greeted by a strong opposition by US policy makers. Those who opposed the deal cite national security among other things to justify their opposition against the proposed ports contract. That two of the 9/11 terrorist attackers came from the Middle East. Dubai has been known for its dubious activities in the Middle East and beyond.

If Yahya Jammeh was to be removed from power today, journalists at the Daily Observer would be the first to rejoice over it. Gambians have been reduced to domestic slaves, including Observer reporters, Editors and Management members. They write what they think Jammeh wants to hear. This is the only way they can survive in today’s Gambia. You either dine with the evil or be harassed.

Yes, Dr. Carrol made his statement about the local press for a reason. He was referring to the Daily Observer, because some Observer insiders posed as reporters, when they are on the payroll of the NIA.  Carrol is a friend of the media. One should reevaluate his assertion before making conclusions. I am sure something must have gone wrong to warrant his anti bashing of the local press.

While we do not want to justify Carrol’s attacks against the local press by any means, it is imperative to note that besides the Daily Observer, all other media houses in the country are well trained. The Observer reporters need training in order to win the respect of Dr. Carrol and their audience. The paper's quality shocks!!! We sometimes wonder if anyone edits that paper.

The same Daily Observer quoted Dr. Carrol few days ago, for having condemned rebellion.  The story left the reader to question its legitimacy, because there was no reference made to justify Carrol’s call. Knowing Carrol mastery of the English language, he wouldn’t make such vague statements, without any form of clarification. Carrol is too smart for that.

From our own understanding, Dr. Carrol was used as a “decoy” by the Daily Observer to convey their message to their target audience.  Perhaps, the Observer reporter "imposter" had a privileged conversation with our learned friend on issues revolving on rebellion on the continent and he decided to pen the conversation as a story.  He might as well be sent by the NIA to spy on Dr. Carrol. Or are they testing Carrol’s mental IQ? They say a lot of things behind Carrol’s back. All these are possibilities.

Many intelligent minds were with the view that the NIA, would have developed on the Observer so called interview with Carrol to gather bit and pieces about the rebellion story. The story bothers on security issues. An  intelligence agency which worth it salt would have launched an investigation  to ascertain the facts. Perhaps, Dr. Carrol was privy to an imminent rebellion attack about to befall this country or was he just speaking in general terms? It should be everybody’s  business to search for the truth. Every news story serves a purpose. The Observer rebellion story raises more questions than answers.
At first, we thought that Carrol was delegated to make such a statement on behalf of the Government, but this presumption turns out to be to the contrary. It was just an idle statement attributed to him by the "INFAMOUS" Daily Observer.  There were a lot of ambiguities in the Observer story.

We know for a fact that Neneh is out there to kiss Jammeh’s nasty tail. She would publish whatever propaganda story that comes to her attention. This woman is not a journalist. She failed all her overseas courses during her time at the Radio Gambia. She could not have been promoted to the position of GRTS DG,  if she was not “socializing” with sex mania Jammeh. This is the hard fact.

Under Jammeh’s watch, promotion is not based on merit, but favors and sexual advances. Jammeh wants to taste all women in his cabinet. What he does is that, he uses overseas trips as a “BAIT” to lure these poor women into an undesirable relationship. Sadly, some of these women, who fall prey of Jammeh’s endless sexual advances are married. They have no choice,  but to comply with Jammeh’s shameless sexual advances. Their are strong women among the lot. Some of these women resigned from his Government, because they could not put up with his sex life. These are women of high standing and moral character.

All these facts would come to light if Jammeh’s Government ceases to exist. Jammeh has undermined many matrimonial homes in The Gambia. He prides himself of sleeping with multiple women. What a despicable situation? Gambia bleeds under Jammeh’s rule. We look forward the day when Jammeh’s Government would be history. There are many stories in the minds of oppressed Gambians that needs to be told. That day is nearing!!!
