The Gambian National Umbrella Organization in the United States and Canada; Alliance of Gambian Associations in the Americas (AGAA), in collaboration with Texas Gambian Association (GTA) and the Family of John Paul Gomez(husband)in Pittsburg,Pennsylvania, with deepest regret wishes to inform all Gambians in the United States, Canada, and around the world of the sudden double tragic passing of  our dear wife and sister Mrs. Mariama Jasseh - Gomez,  Fondly called Yama Jasseh) and her unborn baby.  This sad event took place on Tuesday January 6th,2009 in Pittsburg.

The Gambian Umbrella Organization urges all Gambians and Gambian Associations in across the United States, Canada and elsewhere to reach out to their members and contribute resources to help support the Gomez family in this difficult  time.
