More revelations on convicted British couple

….Daily Observer Forewarned!!!

I have read in the Daily Observer Sunday January 18 2009, edition that it will publish on Tuesday a story about the  jailed British couple already published by the Mail on Sunday in the United Kingdom. The Observer also said it was pleased to just do that as according to it, the story exposes the two individuals.

The hypocrisy is that I also previously read in the same Daily Observer editorial angrily complaining the same British Press coverage about the whole issue.

I think this will now help the Observer to understand that in a press society, where journalists are not targeted, killed, tortured, go into hiding or sacked from their job are able to speak out against their own citizens, whenever they go wrong.

 At the same time, they can also freely criticize their government or citizens, when they wrongly treated others in a kangaroo courts just like what happened to the couple.

Now you calling that revelation, but who dares to do that kind of free press coverage in the Gambia? None! So I think it is a good thing to learn from the likes of  the Mail  and other free press around the world and stop the hypocrisy because the your ‘professor’s era will end on day and justice will prevail.
