Oley Sey Jailed!!!

The erstwhile APRC nominated Member of Parliament Oley Sey was yesterday convicted and sentenced by magistrate Lamin George. Ms. Sey, who used to reside in Ohio, here in the United States, will spend about one year in jail,  before she could reunite with her family, per the magistrate’s terse ruling. She was found guilty on charges of theft and embezzlement. The funds were said to be owned by President Jammeh.  

The court was filled to capacity, with top security chiefs and police prosecutors storming the premises.  Reports have it that the magistrate was pressured to convict the accused. Both IGP Ensa Badjie and one Pa Bojang, an uncle of President Jammeh twisted the arms of the magistrate to decide in their favor. IGP was likely to be fired in the event the magistrate rules in Sey’s favor. It has been reported that Pa Bojang had collected some money from Oley Sey’s relatives.
