Education Department Unable To Pay Students Stipend

The Gambian Government is unable to pay college students stipend, the Freedom Newspaper has learnt. Gambia college students are yet to receive their January stipend. The students want Government to facilitate the prompt settlement of their stipend.

Education officials confirmed the story. Official say the Department is experiencing financial difficulties. “ We are aware of the situation. Efforts are being made to pay the students stipend,.” the official said.

Some of the students accused Government of being insensitive to their plight. They said the Education Ministry careless about their plight.
