Michael Scales Faults GMC Party!!
Michael Scales Faults GMC Party!!!

Dear Mr.Editor,

I cannot help thinking that The GMC is making a cardinal mistake in its early sales and marketing approach to achieving electoral Glory. I say this, not out of malice, or arrogance, but out of considerable experience.

Having trained many in this art and having studied under the best in the business....I concluded that the best way to win any sales order is by Solutions attached to Benefits. Not by berating the competitor. The strategy must be to convince the "buyer" that you have a

Solution that will Benefit their life and make it better. If the target of the "presentation" is focused on the competitor and their business model, you inevitably place the competitor foremost in the buyers mind..and not what it is... that you as a person or a Company or a Political Party can do to convince ....that what you hold in your portfolio, is superior and cost effective..... to those who grant you the opportunity to " sell " your product.

I return to my original recommendations upon these pages. That any political Party must attack the position of the "Competitor" only  by serious consideration to structure and above all a Manifesto which is marketable and superior and can gain momentum and credibility as

its "message" is delivered by the various methods available. Of course this allows the holder to refer to its  stated position and  the ownership of its solution in the event of disagreement with the competitors position.

Of course, one avenue is the online media. That is why I suggested that the GMC

" takes the online media with them by respecting their impartiality."It is a mistake to promote press freedom by excluding all available on line channels. WE ! ...recognise that The Freedom Newspaper is not an item that is much loved by the APRC. But that should be a platform for promoting the honourable position of a free and independently minded  news agency such as The Freedom Newspaper.  More especially since its Editors and its Journalists are the only Gambian media that operates 24 hours of every day .. 7days a week...365 days of the year. If it is Breaking News..!!! the probability is that you heard it first here on These Pages.  This newspaper is also well resourced and supported. In this I give you my pledge.

I can..through my own independent channels confirm that, even though The Freedom Newspaper's transmissions are blocked by the powers that be in The Gambia....that this newspaper is still widely circulated within the borders of " Home". The ingenuity of Gambian's is well known. The online media  is in itsself, is testament and a clarion call  to this view.

It should be recognised that this media is so feared by the Government, that it has been hacked with its subscribers published in The Daily Observer. More over these innocent subscribers who were residents of The Gambia were illegally harassed by The Gambia's infamous intelligent agencies, for no other crime that observing their Democratic right to Freedom of Choice and the ability to Express this in the manner of their choosing. To impose condition or restriction on these basic Human Rights, is to disturb the spirit of International Law

I have read what Mai Fatty has written on another Honourable on line newspaper, and may I add that I am becoming  more convinced that Mr.Fatty is gaining my attention as someone who is fearless and righteous and will make progress.

Bishop Tilewa Johnson said something recently that hit my thoughts as being entirely sensible and to the Greater Good of Democracy in The Gambia. That The Gambian Government should make available a safe position for the Gambia's Opposition Parties to prosper and " Keep The Government on its toes to consolidate peace and security "

The GMC has two prizes on offer. The first is to further a stronger Opposition for the furtherance of Democracy. The second is ultimately to prove to The Gambian people that it can and should be considered  worthy to form a Government at the next  or a future General Election. This will require professionalism...but above all consistency, dedication and hard work. I wish them every success.

Why The Gambian Government seeks to consistently harass and cajole people like PaP Saine and Ebrima Chief Manneh and our dear sister Fatou Jaw Manneh and so many others is a travesty for Africa's " legitimate children." Mark my words "what goes around surely comes around" one day. Has "The Point" not suffered enough by the malicious death of one of Gambia's finest...Mr.Deyda Hydara.

May I echo my Deep...concern at the statement by Mr Halifa Sallah who asks for the Worlds recognition that what is happening in Jambur is deeply disturbing. Like so many, I deeply respect the views of Mr.Sallah. Is their not something most peculiar in this news? Was not the House of Baba Jobe in Kololi not linked to the as yet unexplained deaths of so many ECOWAS travellers. Does the enforced participation in the taking of some drink or potion not strike fear into one's heart ? Who are these "Red" boys beating drums causing mayhem and the disappearance of those loved ones... and to where?

I agree with Mr.Sallah That The Gambian Government needs to make its position on this Very Clear. The Foreign Affairs Ministry acted swiftly to distance The President from the comments surrounding the beheading of Gay's in The Gambia. Likewise..The Office of The President is required to make public its position here...and what they intend to do.

Failure to act precisely and with conviction will necessitate the swift condemnation from Britain and America   The Ecowas Nations, The African Union and all those countries who further Peace and The Rule of Law.

  I remain..Michael..U.K.
