Scales On Jammeh
Dear Mr. Editor,
Try as an Englishman may....I just can't bring myself to dislike him.
I am referring of course to your President ...."Jumping Jack Flash "Jammeh.
He represents a challenge to my sanity that leaves me wondering...what next ? His praise of Nigerian Judges is commendable, but I doubt they or he think about Judicial Law in the same way. Thats sad !
Of course the foundation of Law in most of Africa is based on the British/ Euro/ neo colonialist model....so it confuses me when he launces into verbal abuse of The West and what he perceives as the corrupt relationship between the " State " and the West’s Judicial system.
Try as I did to get The British Government to issue him a visitors visa,{ I count myself as a miserable failure in this regard} I am certain that if he were to visit London....he just might calm down and see the nonsense in his warped sense, of how the British legal system works.
This would allow him some .....Education ! Education ! Education ! leading to Enlightenment ! Entitlement ! and Empowerment !
Most will know that Britain through DEFRA,recently gave The Gambia, some 50 million dalasis with which to invest in The Gambia's Judicial infrastructure. Perhaps this was a mistake on behalf of the British tax payer...? Talk about "biting the hand that feeds you"
But of course....we do our bit for Africa even though he thinks this "Grandfather" can no longer feed its own children let alone contribute to Africa's. Its sad isn't it?
Yes it is sad !
Its sad that the Gambian Government have still not found Ebrima Chief Manneh and paid the compensation to is "old" Dad, as ordered by Nigerian Judges. Thats sad !
Its sad that the killers of Deyda Hydara have not been brought to Justice or that any interest was broadcast on the pages of The Daily Observer on the occaision of the recent anniversary of his assasination.Thats not only sad ! its downright bad !
Perhaps he is putting his own version of New Labor’s "spin" to launch a target driven conveyor belt system of Law. A one way ticket down to Mile 2....With the slogan
"Abandon all hope..... all ye who enter here."
Law is not a crazy fast track game that can be decided in 5 minutes. Law is..... ? {somebody should tell him}
Perhaps we will soon see him taking Law into his increasing portfolio.. where he will appear
on the steps of his aircraft....holding high The Holy Quoran in one hand and the scales of justice in the other.. Then whilst wearing the curly locks of a featherless wig around his mantle , he glides down the steps like a shining white Tornado. Shouting " I can cure the Law.".....
High Ho ! silver...... away ......
The Lone Ranger rides again !!! {Laugh]
No ......I just can not dislike this game fellow.
He makes me laugh. Sad isn't it ?
I remain Michael..U.K.
