Education Officials In The Gambia Under Fire-As Students Accused Them Of Bureaucratic Red-tape!!!

We the entire Gambian undergraduate students currently studying in University Putra Malaysia, are very much displeased to write on the continuous displeasure we are facing at the said University. Therefore, we have met unanimously to voice out some of these continuous bad trends we are encountering in Asia. We want the humble Freedom Newspaper to alert the Government of the Gambia on these challenging issues..

 The University is seriously taking our little monthly stipends from us. They have prepared a special meal cards for us to use compulsory and without our prior consent. This is hellish corruption and the University also charges us a monthly accommodation fees.

At the end of the day, we are left with mere dollar which cannot even buy you soap. The University authorities are very corrupt and they really hate we the Gambians. We want our Government to possibly transfer us to another University otherwise things will get worse and worst. There are lots of scenarios from we the girls of being under constant harassment from our lecturers. This is just devastating.

Again, a lot of us wanted to stay off campus and the university is compulsory telling us to stay on campus because the accommodation fee is very dear. That is to their interest. We have cheap and close off campus accommodations for rent, this is what we want.

Authorities in our Gambian Government who are to pay our stipends also are very corrupt because they always pay very lately. So we want the President to look seriously into this matter and provide solutions to it. Things are not easy with us here and if things get worse, we will be writing and writing to the Freedom Newspaper..

Mr. President, we want your corrupt government to say something otherwise, Freedom Newspaper will be our medium of complains.
