Independent Newspaper Arsonist Sanna Manjang Heads Gambian Peacekeeping Mission To

Sanna Manjang, a soldier who was said to be involved in the arson attack perpetrated on the then INDEPENDENT NEWSPAPER in 2003, is now a  head of a platoon of Gambian combatants deployed to the Sudanese troubled region of Darfur, the Freedom Newspaper can reveal. Mr. Manjang is Jammeh’s favorite hit man. He has been linked to so many atrocities over the years. Government sources here said the United Nations should refuse the likes of Manjang security clearance to take part in such an important peacekeeping operations, in view of his present and past roles in terrorizing Government opponents-most importantly the independent media. They also call on the Sudanese Government in collaboration with the UN to pay a special attention on Manjang, who they branded as a “ serial killer” capable of causing mayhem in that troubled region.

The Government sources who reached the Freedom Newspaper said they wondered how Manjang was selected to lead the said troop to Sudan, while expressing fear that his past record disqualifies him from attending any peacekeeping mission in Africa.

It could be recalled that the former Upper Saloum National Assembly Member Hamat Bah revealed the names of two soldiers involved in the said attack that left the independent totally ravaged. The two soldiers were identified as  Sanna Manjang and SHERIFF GISSEH.

Mr. Manjang and Gisseh left a hand gun believed to be a French made pistol at the premises of the Independent shortly after the fire bombing of the Independent. The pistol in the pages of the Freedom Newspaper was the abandoned pistol. A Nigerian newspaper compiler was left seriously injured by the attackers, while other staffers ran helter-skelter to save their lives. The Independent printing press was burnt beyond recognition during the blaze.

 However, Sanna Manjang deployment to Darfur came after the return of GAMCOY7 .

According to highly place military sources, Sanna is a well feared soldier among his mates, he is also said to posses the power to disappear in the air when the going is tough.
