Former Financial attaché Lamin Sanyang has been granted amnesty by The Gambian state, the court heard Monday.  A letter from the office of the President announced that the state has decided to grant Sanyang amnesty. The state law office informed the presiding magistrate Edrissa Fafa M’Bai about the state’s interest to withdraw charges against Mr. Sanyang. The case was subsequently dismissed. Sanyang walked out of court as a happy man.

Authoritative sources said Mr. Sanyang is being groomed as a prosecution witness in the case between the state and Pap Saine. The state is determined to end the career of Pap Saine.
