Scales On Halake Again!!!!
Dear Highness Halake,
At the risk of basking in your attention, I must add that African's tend to overlook that We British are " tribal " to the core. It was more insulting to this Northern lad to be called a "Londoner" by Mr......"kipper bang" than to say I was ignorant.
I have no truck to being called ignorant. for such nobleness is not an affront to my class or dignity. But to be called a Londoner....Hells fury damn and blast ! {I am not abusive} is the greatest insult. {laugh !!! }
Sitting on the pages of Freedom in my wedding suit, complete with white Carnation {English tradition} you might think I am as posh as Her Majesty. The truth is....if I spoke in my "native" Northern forked tongue....You wouldn't understand a colonial word I say.
For example...if I said " this gadgy barry was shant at the gert slant on me sell".You could be forgiven if you thought I was speaking in warlof. {jirri jeff}
Gadgy barry {hairy man} shant {ashamed} gert {large} slant {insult} sell {me} translated means;
This overly endowed with hair..tall gentleman..was ashamed at the insult thrown at me.
I once tried to "lock horns" with Bubacarr Sankanu..but gave up at the taunting of his incredible genius with the art of exploiting the English language.I raised the white flag rather quickly. for I am no match for you "educationally "bright" Africans that have conquered and mastered what we English have tried to do for centuries. {speaking The Queen's English}
If you want to hear English spoken with political correctness. you should phone my Nigerian wife...Her Royal Highness was privately educated along with the rest of Nigeria's ruling class { Including members of Yar adua's family} and speaks as " posh" as The Queen of England.
I am even surprised sometimes that Pa Nderry lets me get away with lowering the tone of his pages. It is a tribute to his humanitarian spirit that I am allowed some sympathy to pass the litmus test for entry onto this hallowed ground. Though I must admit he rejects some of my nonsense all too frequently. {quite rightly}
Mr.Mbai will tell you..if you ask him nicely, that I was so pleased that you visit these pages with your courage and your conviction's as a true supporter of the APRC government.
For such an inclusion is the very foundation of freedom and democracy.
Proverbial question for your consideration?
Origin. The Holy Bible Jeremiah 13;23
Can the Ethiopian change his skin, or can the leopard change his spots?
Then may you also do good, that are accustomed to do evil.
My interpretation of this is ....can the African embrace peace and harmony or will this continent seek only conflict with the world and its neighbors forever.
Crave my indulgence as I extend my hand of friendship.
Michael..U.K.
