Michael Scales Donates $500 Dollars To The Freedom Newspaper!!!

British philanthropist, and business tycoon Michael Scales, has donated $ 500 dollars to the US based Freedom Newspaper. Mr. Scales who is a friend, and supporter of the leading online media outlet, made the donation today. This is not the first time that Mr.Scales had extended such donations to the paper. In a statement today, Scales remarked “ Please accept my further support to The Freedom Newspaper for its aims and honourable ambitions. The donation coincides with the memory of those children lost on April 10th 2000,  and your friend and much lamented colleague Mr.Omar Barrow. Lest we forget.”

In response the Managing Editor, also Chief Executive Officer of the Freedom Newspaper Pa Nderry M’Bai thanked Mr. Scales for the generous donation. “ The donation came at a time when many small scale businesses are closing in the United States, and elsewhere across the world due to the global economic recession. There are many layoffs and businesses are skeptical about their future. One must be very lucky to have a job at this hour.  Despite our little resources, we still have people on our payroll. The likes of Michael Scales helped to keep this important medium going, through the kind gesture he extends to the paper. We appreciate Micheal’s friendship and true support for Freedom. Be rest assured that the funds will be judiciously managed,”said Editor M’Bai.

Mr. M’Bai urged Gambian journalists back home who are interested in  freelancing for the Freedom Newspaper to send in their stories. “ Any story published here at Freedom is commissioned.  Besides, the staff reporters on our payroll, we also have a special budget earmarked for freelance contributors. If you feel that you have an important story that is worthy of publication, do not hesitate to share it with our esteemed readership. We will pay for all freelance contributions,” Publisher M’Bai said.

Mr. MBai said the April 10 and 11 student killings is still fresh in the minds of Gambians. " We cannot forget such a dark day in our nation's history. On behalf of the Freedom Newspaper Management, please join me to pray for the death.  We demand for the prosecution of the killers of these innocent, and peace loving Gambians,"said M'Bai.

On a final note, Mr. M’Bai said the Freedom Newspaper is a tax payer and declares all its income to the Internal Revenue Services (IRS)  at the year end.  He urges Gambians and friends of The Gambia to extend helping hands to the paper. He said the Freedom Newspaper is a legally registered paper in the US and all its activities are done in line with the dictates of the law.  Mr. Mbai said the Freedom Newspaper is considering publishing a monthly paper in the too distance future and will keep  its readers posted once the project is actualized.  He said despite his busy schedules, he is committed to serving The Gambian population.
