NIA Exposed- Talking Pictures
As Fatou Jaw Manneh Launches Website!!!
By Pa Nderry M’Bai, Banjul
Believe it, or not well here is an inmate, who turns to be an investigator, cum paparazzi, while under NIA custody. She is journalist Fatou Jaw Manneh. She capitalizes on every bit of opportunity she got to take pictures of the NIA building.
Considering the controversies associated with the NIA, Fatou was able to take pictures. One is compelled to ask: Where were the NIA? Were they sleeping?
These pictures portrayed different outlets within the NIA. Fatou was able to photograph key security areas. These areas are considered the most important outlets at the NIA.
The guards perhaps were taken aback by the lady's pretty outlook. Love her, or hate her she is pretty.
Perhaps, the NIA were fascinated by Fatou's good scent and physical outlook. They forgot that they were there to secure the premises, including Fatou. That's the price of security lapse.
Fatou's personal luggage was confiscated by the NIA, when they arrested her two years ago. How she managed to access her disposable camera is a question for the NIA to answer. She was on top of issues while on state custody.
We have told president Jammeh time and time that he got a weak intelligence set up. The NIA is a joke.
Before one could secure a nation; he or she must understands what security is all about. True Intel officers would have resigned following the publication of this piece.
Well done Fatou for exposing the cruel agency. You have done what is expected of any true journalist. A good journalist should always be equipped with a tape recorder, camaera, and a note book. .
During the evening hours, Fatou socializes with local guards in their famous attaya sessions. She retreats to her bedroom at night. She slept on a praying mat.
Fatou is today launching a website called www.Maafanta.com She is running the site with other Gambians. Below is Fatou’s Mission statement.
……………………………………………………………..
Hello everyone, and welcome to Maafanta.com.This site is going to be dedicated to women and their opinions. It’s all about opinion, opinion and opinion!!.Of course we will carry some news within and outside of the Diaspora but the gist of the site is going to be about women’s ideas and opinions on matters that affect us in politics, health, education and our general welfare.
As wives, mothers, sisters, farmers, educators and career professionals, Maafanta is going to be a very opinionated site for women .I am Gambian by birth but my friends come from Senegal, Zimbabwe, Eritrea, Somalia, Uk,North and Latin America. so Maafanta is open to all women of all races and nationalities around the globe and I hope we make it a lively and educative forum.
Of course men are encouraged to contribute and send in their opinions too!!We want to make the site as objective as possible. We will also feature our brothers , who really admire and respect women all over the world. So if you know of a good brother, a husband, a teacher or a doctor, tell us why you think he should be featured in Maafanta.
In our culture men who express their anger, frustration or opinions are always respected and regarded as champions, but the woman who expresses her opinion will be caricatured as a hysteric or even rude. Maafanta is here for women to express their opinions loud and clear.
I have been debating on so many names that should appropriately represent the name of the site in almost every language I know, names like Tegdungal , meaning hospitality in Fula, Jolof, Samakun, which means diva in mandinka, Grandma Maateneng but finally decided on the name Maafanta.
Maafanta is a name of a village girl. Pretty, smart, humble, hardworking, traditional but still makes her voice heard in the thickset of male dominated surroundings. So I urge all the maafantas in every dominion to bring in their opinions , opinions and opinions. Thank you all and please enjoy.
