Daily Observer Editor On The

Kemo Cham Fled Gambia!!!
Kemo Cham, the editor-in-chief of the pro-government Daily Observer newspaper company is on the run, the Freedom Newspaper has learnt. He was said to have allegedly fled The Gambia Tuesday morning, 11 August 2009 following reports of his imminent arrest by The Gambian authorities.
This development, according to sources followed staff infighting amongst newspaper management, relating to some board members.
It all started on Thursday 6 August 2009, when Observer’s production manager- Abdulai John was arrested and detained at the Serre Kunda police station. He was accused of sabotage, following delays in the paper's circulation.
Observer's sales had fallen dramatically in recent times. Many readers opted to read the Internet since the paper is all about promoting President Jammeh.
The rumors of the indifference among staff aggravates within five days of John's arrest and subsequent sacking, allegedly threatening the security and mindset of editor Cham, who accused the Managing Director Mr. Pa Malick Faye and marketing Manager Mr Lamin Dibba of undermining his peace and stability in his work place.
"Kemo has not reported to work today and we could not reach him on mobile,” said sources. The absconded editor is believed to be at a neighboring country, name withheld for security reasons.
