Pap Saine Admitted In Hospital, Following Worsening Health Conditions!!!

The jailed Point Editor Pap Saine, has been admitted, following a sudden heart related problems, the Freedom Newspaper can reveal. Saine who was sentenced to two years imprisonment with hard labor, was taken to the hospital for immediate medical attention. He is said to be suffering from heart problems.  Sources reaching this paper say Saine’s health conditions had worsen following his conviction by the High Court.

According to prison sources here, Pap Saine has been repeatedly complaining about  heart related problems. “ He doesn’t  like the food being served here.  He is getting weaker by the day. If he is not released, he is likely to die in prison. Pap is completely gone. He needs medical attention,” said a prison insider.

Lack of balanced diet,  is being blamed for many related prison deaths in The Gambia. Coupled with insufficient food, the prisoners also suffered from malnutrition, and TB. The lucky ones walked out of jail, with a clean bill of health, while others died.

Mr. Saine’s numerous request for overseas treatment was turned down by the authorities.  He is the co proprietor of the Point Newspaper. He has been jailed for allegedly defaming President Jammeh, a charge he denied in court.
