“Yahya Jammeh Cannot Survive Another Year In Office,”-Town Crier

For sometime now,  I have decided to hibernate as all I have advised Oga fell into a thick skull and deaf ears that can only hear one voice and that is Oga’s own voice. Am I surprised? No! Am not. This is the trend of dictators. They don’t listen to common sense because they don’t have any. I want to take you through a tour of Oga's line of thought and why he behaves the way he does.

Yahya cannot survive a year in office if everything is quiet and smooth moving here in Gambia. He survives by creating tension. We have seen and have been experiencing preferential treatment from the army, civil service, down to other law enforcement agencies. Peace and tranquility will accord those of us serving him time to think and plan against him. So in order to avert this, he creates tension and rifts between us so that instead of us working against him we will be butting our heads against one another as is evident by the incriminations going on. To supplement the head butting, he promotes where it is not necessary just to save his head from a takeover. But this too will fail in due time. History teaches us that you can’t go on and on and on. Everything reaches a limit except Allah and we know Oga is far from Him but a ed fellow with Ibliss (Satan).

Tactics of fear and intimidation are his weapons and so he can’t go for long without creating an episode to attract attention. Once it is all quiet and no one talks about him, he feels irrelevant and matter of fact he is. So he will either schedule a so called GRTS rant interview or attack some other poor defenseless and honest person. This for him is showing toughness when the guy is a wimp. Trust me Yahya has no courage. He has no power. It is us the security services that are being used to intimidate our mothers, fathers, brothers and what nut. If we agree among ourselves and say enough is enough, what can timid Oga do? Nothing except run and hide. He is abusing state power which is supposed to be used to defend the country and not him as an individual.

Jailed Journalists

Oga knows deep inside him that these are innocent as innocent itself. However he is jailing them to show toughness and harass the free press into submission. Trust me he will keep these people for while say six months and then come up say during an occasion and say he’s forgiven them. Halifa Sallah should not bother wasting time and money to reach some authority to release the jailed journalists. That is exactly what Yahya wants. Some head of state or person of authority coming from somewhere to beg on their behalf.

 Civil Labour

I have talked on this before but I will reiterate it again. Oga is using state labor for his personal gain. This is completely against our constitution. I have no problem if he persuades all government entities to engage in commercial farming with the help from the ministry of agriculture and whatever is obtained from those farms will go into the coffers of the institution rather than his private pocket. Trust me people are not coming out to help out of love for this ignorant and bad president. They are forced. Heads of the civil service are coming out as staying behind means writing their own dismissal letters. If they are given a choice, trust me no one will come. So what is happening is that everyone is kowtowing and pretending to be coming out to help when in actual fact they are being forced out of fear. I better stop here as I am loosing my temper right now. Peace to all.
