Gambia Launches New ID, And Biometric Control System!!!!
WHERE IS GAMBIA HEADING TO UNDER JAMMEH?

As Gambia  Launches New ID, And Biometric Control System!!!!
 By Alieu Touray
Our national coffer is in tatters, our security bleak than ever before, our health services deteriorated, our education falling behind and our social cohesion rapidly declining. I am too scared now. Therefore, I can’t keep quiet any longer. I once told my colleague at the Central Bank that one day Gambians will cry as longer as Jammeh remains in power. He is a very greedy leader as the British national living in Gambia once said and I think it was wrong for the NIA to arrest this brave man for speaking the truth.

Jammeh stole our economy and I wonder how longer we can keep on accepting the hardship. He stole millions from GAMTEL, GPA and the Central Bank and with the help of his so-called cousin ex-Central Bank boss Famara Jatta he diverted millions of poor tax payers money abroad. Now the vast majority of Gambians don't have food to eat.

Shockingly, Jammeh introduced the Biometric ID Card system without any knowledge of how it will be done. Senior officials are complaining in Banjul that they were never consulted by this dictator who is doing whatever he likes with the help of a tiny few at the NIA. With immediate effect everyone is now told to change their ID cards and all applicants are required to pay D200.00. I now believe that Jammeh is mad, how we can pay D200 for an ID card by force when we cannot even buy sugar for the Ramadan.

Jammeh should be told that countries doing Biometric like the UK have men and women with especial training and up-to-date equipments on such matters (costing tens of millions of pounds). Can’t Jammeh read and understand simple English or mere logic?.

Most shocking Judge Moses Richards told the courts that killing is rampant now in the Gambia. This is a very serious problem and a strange phenomenon in our country. But off course this must be said and the judge is right but he is economical with the truth-maybe of fear losing his job. The reason for this trouble is that there is too much of corruption and abuse of authority including inside the court while the NIA operates with impunity.

Sadly,  this is just a tiny problem we are experiencing in Gambia compare to the hundreds of other major troubles-all in the hands of this corrupt regime with a corrupt system.
