VP Secured Job For Her Daughter Amie Saidy At The Treasury Department Without Any School Certificate

To start with our exposure of the VP: Here is Amie Saidy’s cellular phone number:  9998928.   I  am releasing this information for any future Government interested in pursuing the corruption allegations against the Vice President.  I am not convinced that President Jammeh will part company with her in the short term, nor will he form an inquiry to probe her, but I deem it imperative to bring this high profile official corruption on  the table for Gambians to decide. The Vice President is not only corrupt, but discriminatory.  She is denying hardworking Gambians jobs  to the expense of her  own daughter.

Amie Saidy is the daughter of  Gambia’s Vice President Isatou Njie Saidy. She has just graduated from High School. It was in June of this year, when she sat  for  the West African Senior Secondary school examination, conducted by (WAEC).  While she is awaiting for her Examination results, her Mum Isatou Njie Saidy, uses her position as the country’s  Vice President to secure her a job at the Treasury Department.  Guess what? Amie is now an Accounts  Clerk. She was hired without any certificate, or an official transcript from her former school, the Methodist Academy.

The Vice President, we have been told twisted the arms of the hiring officers at the Accountant General’s office in Banjul to hire her daughter. Amie Saidy was not even close to an average student. She was just hired like that, without any adherence to  the Civil Service’s code of ethics, and employment policies. Very sad indeed!!!  Corruption at its best at the VP’s office.

This reporter was able to develop close ties with Amie Saidy, and as such was able to gather a lot of information about her appointment at the Treasury Department, the VP’s private life, and other security related issues, which we shall discussed in subsequent publications.  She told us that it was her Mum,  who facilitated her employment, even though she had no school certificates. She appeared  very excited to secure employment, when her own fellow students are wondering about their future.

I have no intentions of implicating the Vice President. All I am reporting here is the truth, and nothing but the truth. She abuses her office to the expense of other qualified Gambian job applicants. The VP knew very well that Amie Saidy is not qualified for that job.

We will prove to  the Vice President that we are not making up stories against her. She would be shocked to learn that the said information was revealed to us by her own daughter. We have documentary, and material evidence to back up our claims, if called upon. This is no bragging.

We have been talking to Treasury Department officials. The majority of the officials spoken to have all affirmed that the VP has abused her office.

“ We shortlisted applicants with accounting backgrounds, but they were all dropped. The Vice President told our boss that she wanted her daughter to be absorbed. This girl has no qualifications, and yet was hired. To add insult to injury, she is being groomed for overseas studies. We have her file here,”said an official of the Treasury Department.

Another Treasury official said since the advent of the Jammeh administration, there have been total disregard to Civil Service policies.

“ Those who should implement these policies are violating it. We are hiring the wrong people. The experienced ones are being denied employment because of lack of connection in Government. Amie Saidy comes to work anytime she wants, and leaves the office as she deems it necessary. No one here dares discipline her,” said the insider.

Attempts  to reach the Vice President’s office for comments proved abortive. But an insider confirmed the story. “ I can confirm to you that the Vice President’s daughter works at the Treasury Department. How she got the job, I don’t know. All I can tell you is that she works there,” the insider said.
