President Jammeh Donates $10,000 US Dollars To Party Supporters In The US

“ I read The Internet On A Regular Basis,” Jammeh Tells His Supporters!!

As Jammeh Threatens To Deal With Cyber Warriors!!!

If anyone thinks that I Yahya Jammeh do not read the Internet, he or she must be mistaken. I read the Internet on a regular basis. I  browsed  the Internet like any other Gambian. I laughed to myself,  each time I read some of the malicious, and misleading stories they write about me on the Internet. To those of you, smearing my image on the Internet, I say go ahead. Do not make the mistake to come to The Gambia. I  will deal with you mercilessly if you come back home,” These were the exact words of Gambia’s President Yahya Jammeh.  Mr. Jammeh who was addressing a sizeable crowd of party supporters at a New York hotel,  said some of the stories written about him, and The Gambia in particular,  were far from the reality on the ground. He tells his supporters that The Gambia under his watch has witnessed an unprecedented development over the years.

“ Instead of acknowledging the developmental programs initiated by my  Government , they think that they can deceive the world by portraying me as a monster, bent on undermining the freedoms, and liberties of Gambians. There is freedom and development in The Gambia. I do not care what they say. I am interested in developing this country,”Jammeh said.

Jammeh who proceeded to Venezuela on an official visit, presented a cash money amounting to $10,000 US dollars to his supporters before leaving the United States.  It took Mr. Jammeh less than a minute to dish out such huge  gift to his supporters.  The money was handed to his supporters through an agent of his Government on behalf of the President, sources said.

Jammeh  encourages the APRC supporters to remain steadfast, and rally behind his Government. He said no amount of criticism can deter him from achieving his set goals for The Gambia, and her people.

In 2005, Jammeh extended a similar cash donation to his supporters in the United States. Even though the average Gambian is living below  the poverty line, The Gambian leader dishes out millions of dalasis on a regular basis to the fans of his so called revolution.

Questions are being asked about Jammeh’s source of wealth. Many believe that Gambia’s annual budge cannot sustain his philanthropist aid, and therefore he might be earning money from a different source outside Government.

“ Pa Nderry, you guys think that Yahya Jammeh’s riches is extraordinary.  The President does not need Government money. He is rich. He has money. Where do you think he got the money to fund all those developmental projects in The Gambia? He is using his own money to develop the country,” said an APRC supporter

The Gambian leader heard numerous complaints from party supporters in the United States about the ineptitude, and bureaucratic tendencies of embassy officials at the DC Mission. One such complainant was Mbaheh Nyany, the APRC Chair lady in New York City. Madam Nyang said she has made numerous phone calls to the Embassy in the past, but no one pickup, or returned her calls.

“ I was able to reach the former Ambassador Muhammed Cole one day on the phone.  As soon as I started expressing my concerns over the embassy’s failure to attend to callers, he jumped and told me you are a liar. He doesn’t even know who was calling. He just spit on my face by calling me a damn liar. I took such insults seriously because this is not part of our culture. It is acceptable in the US to call someone as a liar, but as Gambians, we do not take such insults lightly. I became upset, and told him that I was going to file a complaint against him with the relevant Gambian authorities, which I did. He told me I don’t care, and hung up the phone on my ears,” said Mbaheh Nynag.

Madamn Nyang informed the President that without Gambians in the US, there wouldn’t be any Embassy, and therefore implored on Embassy officials to open their doors to Gambians overseas.

Mbaheh Nyang  said she sometimes wondered if Diplomats at the DC Embassy are aware of their job descriptions. “ How can you sit out there without talking to your countrymen, and women. You are being paid to do a job, and we expect you to reach out to the community, “she said.

Acting Gambian Ambassador to the United States Ebrima JT Kujabi weighed in by assuring the crowd that under his watch as an acting Ambassador such bureaucratic red-tape practices would ceased to happen.

“ The Embassy is now fully staffed with competent receptionists. Your calls would be attended to on a timely fashion manner. As an Ambassador, I would do my very best to serve your needs, and aspirations,” JT Kujabi said.

According to JT, President Jammeh often calls them to enquire about certain information he received pertaining to Gambians in the US.

“ I must confess that half of the time, such information never reaches our desk, but the President would called in to demand prompt answers. I remember the President calling  and asked us  if we were aware of  a Gambian who was allegedly murdered in Maryland, and was found in his car burnt.  I told him no. He then gave us two hours ultimatum to furnish him with details about the said case. I  later called him , and gave him the information he wanted. This shows that the President is concerned about the safety of Gambians,”  Ambassador Kujabi said.

Earlier on, President Jammeh said each time he fires Gambians there is a reason. He said he is waiting for the day when someone would ask him why he fired his officials.

“ In the exercise of my duties as a President, I don’t care whether you are my mother, uncle, or relative. I do my job without fear or favor.  I will sack anyone who is not willing to work,” Jammeh said.

Talking about the protesters,  who stormed the hotel where he was lodged, Jammeh called on his supporters to ignore such troublemakers. He said he read about their conduct on the Internet, but would not waste his time engaging a barking dog.

“ If a dog is barking at you, just go about your normal business. Do not engage idle folks. I don’t have time for such idle people,” he said.

Jammeh also advised Gambians who are in habit of partying overseas to think about their native country, The Gambia.  He said some of these folks risked being homeless, when they returned home because in his own words “ they do not have a place to sleep at. They will be partying in the streets, and not in a house. They have not built a single house in The Gambia,” he said.

The President also called on his supporters to unite, and to remain as good ambassadors of The Gambia. He promises more development for The Gambia in years ahead.
