London Letter: Silence due to just too much happening …
Dear Editor,
One or two of your readers have written to ask whether I have been stricken by the illness affecting the “Silent Londoner”. Well, this letter is proof that my inocullation against the silence disease does work. Nevertheless, I should say that I was faced by the problem that afflicts the centipede often: there are so many things going on that, like the centipede, I did not known which leg to move first!
Today’s top concern of course is the MASSACRE of innocent people in Conakry by Dadis Camara’s bandits (“I have lost control of these soldiers”, says Captain Dadis Camara as an excuse for the massacre of his fellow countrymen).
The Iran issue is interesting. The political philosophy called MAD (mutual assured destruction) has been proven to keep peace between nuclear armed neighbours. Such countries never go to war. So maybe the best way to keep the peace between Israel on the one hand and Iran/ Arabs on the other is to give Iran and the Arabs, lets say 40 nuclear war-heads. Israel has 80. Once both sides have nukes, there will be no more war between them – this is a fact of global politics for the last 60 years or so.
Col. Samsudeen Sarr has also been rather interesting lately – but it seems that he has received a TKO from Foday Samateh today. By the way, if intelligent people like Mr. Foday Samateh wrote more often it would force people like me to keep quite!
Anyway, editor, just wrote to say I am around and well, and certainly I have not gone under the purdah of silence!
Wishing your readers well.
