NIA Insiders Expressed Outrage Over Jammeh’s Attempts To “ Jollanized” The Agency!!!!

Gambia’s President Yahya Jammeh has resumed his “Jollanization” of the National Intelligence Agency, the (NIA). He has named a new Director General. He is Numo Kujabi. Mr. Kujabi used to be the commanding officer in charge of the CIU,  known as the Interpol at the police head quarters.  Disgruntled NIA sources reaching this paper said Kujabi is unfit to man the said post,  in view of his appalling qualifications deficiency. He was personally handpicked by the President to head the discredited Agency, the NIA insiders said.

Our source indicated that the majority of the NIA Directors,  have either been fired, or redeployed,  with the exception of Musa Dibba, who is the Head of Administration at the Agency.  Dibba was detained during the March coup, only to be reinstated, as he was cleared from any wrongdoing.

Numo Kujabi’s appointment has been faulted by some disgruntled intelligence officials. They accused the President of trying to transform the Agency into a Jolla Kingdom.

For President Jammeh, loyalty supersedes qualifications. He wants NIA agents who would execute his “dirty” errands for him. This include: the persecution of perceived political opponents, including human rights activists.

The President recently fired his Chief of Staff General Lang Tombong Tamba, with other top army officers. Some senior officials of the NIA were also not spared. The President tends to have more confidence into the police than the NIA, nowadays. This is evident on his secret meetings with IGP Jesus Badjie. Jesus reports to him on a daily basis on issues relating to national security.

It has been gathered that the police recently uncovered a major security breach involving certain unnamed soldiers. Investigations into the said security breaches is currently underway.

On the other hand, sources said the IGP was merely looking for promotion by lying against certain hardworking members of the army. Our sources indicated that Badjie harbored grudges against Tamba, and others.
