Kebba Yorro Manneh Arrested in Bansang

According to one Jonfolo Manneh who called the Point yesterday morning and claimed to be a sister of Kebba Yorro, her brother was arrested on Monday evening by the Bansang Police and still being detained. She however could not say why her brother was arrested and detained.

When contacted, the station officer at Bansang Police Station, OC Jawo, was said to “have travelled to Sare Bojo”. The public relations officer of GPF, ASP Aziz Bojang confirmed the detention of Kebba Yorro but could not elaborate further.

Meanwhile, Mr. Kawsu Ceesay, the Chief Electoral Officer at the Independent Electoral Commission (I.E.C) told The Point yesterday that as far as the I.E.C was concerned, it had not registered any political party for Kebba Yorro Manneh. “He has not yet registered; although he declared an intention of registering a party the process has not yet started,” Mr. Ceesay said, adding that Mr. Manneh has yet to fulfill the requirements of the I.E.C including his party manifesto, symbol and members of his party.

According to Foroyaa newspaper of 8-10th May, Mr. Manneh is to name his party as the National Salvation Party and that the motto would be Unity, Equity and good governance. At the time of going to press, he was still being detain.
