The Roadmap to "True" African Democracy-Scales
Dear Mr. Editor,
A simple guide containing the Road Map to a United States of Africa,, concludes that "History" contains the message of the ultimate victory of the...."True" Democratic arrival.
I do not concede to Winston Churchill's view that "Democracy is a poor form of Government, but that all the others are so much worse"
I feel that Winston was being true his usual dogmatic deliberation of seeking Perfection out of Human imperfection. For the man or woman has not yet been born that did not ever lie or cheat or steel or bare false witness at some time in their long life.
The simple message of the Bible or The Holy Quoran concedes that "Life" is a constant challenge of the power of good over evil. For whether the Devil truly exists amongst us or not, man charged with the restriction of "infinity",,,, was bound to invent an icon to badness...and The Devil fits that role adequately.
What we human's can aspire to is a percentage of being good more than 50% of the time.
The truly Great citizens like Jesus Christ or The Prophet Mohammed did achieve much more....
The African question is a most compelling situation. In my experience, the average African anchored to overwhelming social disadvantage, does not achieve anywhere near the 50 % standard for goodness or anything close. Slavery and the imposition of chains was in my view unnecessary..for the African constructs his own chains since records began.
The blame game starts from within..for it is never the African's fault that all the worlds evil conspires within the greater African continent and that these evils are attached to the legacy of we white people from The North. I don't accept this either.
Taking History as a guide....The English civil war sought to gain power for the majority over the grasp of the ruling monarchy of the day. The division was easy. The Roundheads lead by Cromwell sought to impose an independent legislative body over The Royalists through "The model Parliament" They even did the unthinkable by beheading the ruling King on route to achieving this goal...even if Parliament did take several generations to eventually inflict moderation over the power of the Kings and Queens of England. History has proved that our Island race has resisted all insurgents for a thousand years. Whether we
"the people" are ruled by Kings or Parliament, our ability to remain independent has existed and endured......... though for the last 100 years we have bequeathed much of our Security and Economic independence to The United States of America. We have also allowed our legal integrity some free license to The European Union. {Though this is a subject for another day}
The French revolution also had easily defined protagonists. The storming of the Bastille by the people lead to an endless headless ruling class. So much so that the French ruthlessly discharged those titled landlords under the guillotine with alacrity.
The Russians executed the Royal Family leading to a people's revolution that turned Freedom into a secret state of whispers and counter revolution that enslaved an entire continent under the false promise of equality. They merely replaced the Ruling class for a quasi military class that had the power of the Monarchy without the ancestry or the quality of succession. The breaking of the Soviet Union is a modern lesson that Democracy and Freedom, allied to economic power, will eventually overcome the strictest state proliferated by the force of arms or secrecy.
The Germans were brought to the Democratic forum by the outside force of the Allies.
The American's again had easily defined protagonists, with the war of the Confederate States against the Unionist States. What persists today is the greatest Democracy the world has ever known.
What The West has achieved through brutality and bloodshed stands as the template to Democratic dispensation and the preferred "Model" of government by the people for the people today.
The African question is much more complex.
Africa is a continent left confused by Western methods of governance which they aspire to conform to, but are broken by a desire to maintain the integral borders of nation states by force of arms. The African does not enjoy interstate relationships or would seek to embrace a United agenda which gives any other nation the rights to its property. It would in all things speak falsely if it proclaims to aspire to A United States of Africa, for it could not ever achieve the trust of those who would stand towards that cause.
By enlarge, the Key holders of African Nations would seek to build a coalition to gain momentum for a United cause but those protagonists speak from Nations from which they have usurped Power by force or conspiracy and "some" would seek to hold on to that power and privilege, for life.
This is no more highlighted than by the recent communiqué’s from The African Union sitting in Abuja. Whereby they plead the case to The United Nations Security Council to negate the proliferation of the power invested in the International Criminal Court. That authority seeks the Lawful redress against those African leaders who have alleged to have engaged in mass slaughter, Genocide, Rape and the robbing of lands and assets of the African people.
It further gives the "Lame Duck" excuse to the advantage of reconciliation of those alleged to have abused their power. I ask the question....
Is it to be the perpetual state of African leadership that they will seek to be allowed to abuse
their mandate with impunity and that in its advocation of the creation of a United States of Africa..would they then seek to remain in power for life, with no moderation of accountability offered to The African people.
Taking what I have written, the true cause of the people in The West was for the most part
to serve the interests of the people by the people over the unfettered power of a ruling class that enjoyed rank and privilege for life, at the expense of the majority under privileged.
The cause of a United States of Africa is a cause that is in my view..Just and Noble and aspires to truly solve so many problems for African's in gaining true value for their resources and their labor. However, History concludes that unless this is given in the form of true Democratic dispensation that favors everybody equally..then a counter revolution then becomes inevitable. African leadership, should aspire to include all the people attaining consensus and ensuring accountability and probity from those it chooses by the ballot box to achieve and maintain their rights as citizens of a growing free world.
Food for thought ?
I remain Michael..U.K.
