Editorial: Betrayal Was The Case: Sarr, And Chongan The New Born Again Political Apologists!!!
How Far Will They Succeed In Their “Deceptive” Bid To Reconcile With Jammeh???
….Freedom Newspaper Dishes Chongan, And Sarr
The time has come to speak out against these shameless former military officers, parading as born again political apologists. We are calling them out!!! We mean former Gendarmerie Major Ebrima Chongan, and Colonel Samsideen Sarr. The two have been trading on deception for a while now, with the primary objective of achieving their set political, and economic goals. No one is stopping you from reconciling with President Jammeh, please for heaven sake do not hide in the name of reconciliation to blackmail your fellow countrymen. The Gambia would be better off -without the unprincipled folks like Sarr, and Chogan, whose major weakness is low self esteemed.
Slowly, but surely, Gambians would soon realize the true colors of Sarr, and Chogan, who belonged to the indoctrinated PPP “ Banjul mafia boys,” whose preoccupation is to exploit any slightest opportunity that knocks on their doors. Chongan, and Sarr should come out open and seek amnesty from President Jammeh, rather than shifting blames on their colleagues in the struggle. This is the height of hypocrisy.
We are compelled to ask: When did Chogan become a Crisis Management Expert in the first place? All his arguments were premised on poor reasoning, and half-truths. He never advanced any tangible evidence to support his misleading claims that without national unity, The Gambia would be thrown into political turmoil.
If Sarr and Chogan are so desperate to return home, they are free to join the Jammeh van wagon, but should stop their double standards in the name of reconciliation. After all, who appoints you to spearhead such a useless venture. Go tell your cook and bull stories to those sellouts who are desperate to be welcome on the Jammeh camp.
You lacked the moral authority to preach to us about civility, when you have directly, or indirectly contributed to the sufferings our countrymen, and women are going through. If you had not betrayed your oath of office, and allegiance, the July 22nd coup would not have materialized. Don’t tell us that you engaged the coupists, only to fled to the Denton Bridge Mangrove swamps , following an unsuccessful defiance. This is not about Chongan as a person, but collective responsibility. After having woefully failed to defend your nation, you want to come here and shift blame on innocent Gambians. We are not going to take it!!!
We want to make it loud and clear that progressive, and faithful Gambians do not need any amnesty from President Jammeh. We are also not interested in engaging him into any reconciliation process. Jammeh’s hands are stained with blood, and it is our ardent belief that unless one is not an evil, he or she should not contemplate dinning with such a monster.
If there should be any amnesty to be sought, Jammeh is the one who should lobby for it. We are not desperate, and are more than committed to fighting this administration until death comes.
Sam Sarr, and Chongan are the bi products of the PPP. In other words, the two were errand boys to the Banjul mafia. We all know how the two got their rapid promotions while in active duty. No disrespect intended here. We are just being real.
Even though, there were complaints lodged about the comportment of Chongan in particular, as an officer outside work, the man got away with so many things, which could have cost him his job at the time. They had the backing of the people on the top. They report to work anytime they wanted. Chongan fighting in bars was not strange to the military’s echelon.
The only way Chongan, and Sarr could win the respect of Gambians is by minimizing their low life commentaries-aimed at appeasing Jammeh. President Jammeh would be more than willing to welcome them onboard, if they come out clean and stop the false pretense. Hiding under the fence, would only prolonged the much anticipated reconciliation you are yearning from Jammeh. Be man enough to apologize, and stop the rantings. Remember that history would judge you for your actions. Let justice guide our actions. We rest our case!!
