Yahya Jammeh To Die Soon-
Assignment For The NIA
Is IGP Jesus Badjie Planning To Replace Jammeh??
By Famara Badjie, Banjul
Proper intelligence management is the cornerstone to a stable, and prosperous nation. In the case of The Gambia, we are not blessed with seasoned intelligence officers, who are capable of
gathering, and processing intelligence. We are living in a precarious and dangerous fragile security environment, where the unexpected can happen anytime from now. President Jammeh is on his way to the graves. This is no threat.
The police under the leadership of Inspector General Essa Badjie is now advising the President on major security related issues. The arrest of General Tamba, Kawsu Camara, NIA’S Numo Kujabi, and other officers of the armed forces emanated from the police. Jesus Badjie, as he is fondly called here in Banjul, received a tip-off about a planned mutiny in the making. But the semiliterate police chief, does not have a clue about the brains behind the said coup. He just forwarded a list of present, and former officers, whom he had a beef with in the recent past. A buried truth shall rise again.
Numo Kujabi was his former associate at the police. The factors that led to Kujabi’s transfer to the NIA is no secret to the intelligence community here. Jesus’s goal, we have been told, was out to incriminate these hardworking officers. He wants to fortify his position by engaging in such a blackmailing scheme against Tamba, and others.
Putting personal differences aside, the theme for this write-up is centered on the so called coup plot uncovered by the police. The NIA, which is the country’s main intelligence gathering agency said they were not in the picture. They denied knowledge about any coup plot against the President.
While we do not want to validate Jesus’s claims, it is imperative to note that the rumor about the said coup plot have been going on for sometime now. Whether this is a counter intelligence calculated to preempt future coups, is a question for the Presidency to answer. What is clear though, the real coupists are at large. No second guessing about such a statement of fact.
On the other hand, intelligence experts believe that Jesus Badjie is working on replacing Jammeh. While there is no evidence linking him to the brains behind the scheduled takeover, reports have it that Badjie is withholding information by failing to brief the President correctly. Jesus should be honest enough to report about what he heard, or saw.
As stated earlier, we are privy to the full story, but it is up to the NIA to investigate Jesus Badjie. Jesus is tearing Gambia’s intelligence community, and security forces apart. It is better to remain silence than to give false information to the Head of state.
What is evident though, there is an intelligence failure on the side of the NIA. How come that they could not detect what is about to happen? Essa Badjie is a good person to quiz for details. Since he is claiming to be an intelligence expert, he should explain where he got his sources of information from.
Jammeh has long been underestimating Gambians. He would be shocked when these people strike God willing. We used the word “THESE PEOPLE” because it do us no good to expose agents of change. Jammeh will die like a chicken. He should consider saying his last words before these fearless patriotic citizens come for him. These are no threats. We are just being real.
Jesus Badjie can barely read, or write simple English. He was notorious for his cruelty while at the drug squad. A drug lord for that matter, Jesus is a lose criminal out to undermine our security forces. He trades on deception, and cheap propaganda. Jammeh’s days are numbered.
