Security Analysis: Who Runs The NIA? Numo Kujabi, or The “Security Expert” Overseas??
Sources At The Gambian Mission IN Washington DC Say Numo Kujabi Relied On A Gambian Security Expert To Run The NIA
Presidential briefings are done on a daily basis. This is a forum, in which the NIA DG Numo Kujabi reports to the President Yahya Jammeh about security contingency plans put in place for the day, and happenings in the country. It is an important security dosage, which contains national security matters. One must be part of the top echelon of the country’s intelligence community to be privy to such classified state secrets. The NIA DG is expected to do his homework right before presenting the report to the President, otherwise he might risked jeopardizing his credibility as a spy chief.
That said, we have an important information to share with you today. We have gathered from well placed sources at the DC Embassy that President Jammeh’s spy chief Numo Kujabi relied on the services of a Gambian security expert overseas name withheld for advise on national security related issues. The said Gambian according to the DC insiders helped Numo to run the National Intelligence Agency.
Numo is not doing this out of incompetence, but he wants to prove to the President that he has the backing of “seasoned” Intel operatives overseas. His latest “Operation 11/27 case was uncovered thanks to the said expert overseas, said the Embassy insiders.
The President we have been told by the Embassy insiders is working on convincing the said Gambian to return home to help Numo run the agency.
“ The President does not have confidence in the NIA. Besides Numo, and some few officers, he doesn’t trust the rest. I think Numo wants the said Gambian to help him run the agency. All the Presidential briefings come from the said Gambian. He has to vet some of the reports before it is presented to Oga. Numo should be grateful to this Gambian,”said the DC Embassy insider.
IGP Essa Badjie Exposed
President Jammeh should consider investigating Essa Badjie. Jesus Badjie is a vicious element, who should not be trusted at all. One of the reasons why he was unhappy about the planned reinstatement of General Tamba was that he believe that Tamba was going to be a threat to his Presidential ambition. He wants his half brother Badjie, a top official of the army to be the Chief of Defense Staff, while another brother of his to lead the NIA. If Badjie becomes the CDS, it would be easy for him (Essa Badjie) to replace OGA, said my source who dines with Jesus Badjie. This was a well calculated move on the side of the IGP. He furnished all kinds of lies, and smear campaign against General Tamba, Modou Gaye, and others to the President.
IGP Badjie’s problems with Modou Gaye started when Gaye’s wife who is the Chairlady of the servicemen’s wives Association visited the Banjul police station, and other security outlets in the country. The GRTS news footages showed the dilapidated buildings at the Banjul police lines. Jesus thought that this was a conspiracy theory to get him fired. He uses Operation 11/27 to blackmail Gaye, Tamba, and others. The code for Operation 11/27 is known by few here. One has to be a member, or a senior Intel official to be privy to the actual code.
Jesus Badjie also cooked up a corruption scandal against General Tamba. He tried to use the likes of the jailed Uncle of President Jammeh Colonel Gibril Bojang, his half brother Badjie, AKA Kanyimanso, and the head of the military police to frame General Tamba. The allegations were that Tamba was embezzling funds meant for soldiers welfare, which later turned out to be false. The President himself discovered that his uncle was responsible for the poor state of the soldiers plight.
General Tamba got fired, and a week later Gibril Bojang, Badjie, and the military police commander were promoted. Gibril Bojang was busted by the President, following incriminating evidence that he embezzled funds belonging to the army.
General Tamba is likely to be released soon, but this is not the end of the story. The President should consider prosecuting IGP Badjie, and his accomplices for supplying him with false information. Badjie's vengeance speak volumes. Look out for part three of this piece.
