President Jammeh Takes Control Of GPA And The Civil Aviation

As Gov’t Announces The Transfer Of GPA And GCAA To The President’s Office

Finance Minister Exposes Yahya Jammeh’s Unique Transportation Company In Parliament

Gambia’s Finance Minister Abdou Kolley has intentionally exposed Yahya Jammeh, without realizing the implications of his pronouncement about the sale of the Maintenance Service Agency (MSA).  The Finance Minister confirmed the veracity of the Freedom Newspaper previous story over the controversy surrounding the sale of the said Government agency, which the paper had earlier reported that it was bought by our corrupt President Yahya Jammeh.  Unique Transportation System is the new owners of our auctioned MSA. For those of you, who does not know the real owner of the company, Yahya Jammeh is the proprietor of Unique Transportation System. Jammeh hired a caretaker staff to run the UTS for him.

To add insult to injury, Jammeh today announces the taking over the Gambia Ports Authority, and Gambia Civil Aviation Authority. The two parastatals have been transferred to the office of the President with immediate effect.

In other words, The GPA and the GCAA are no longer answerable to the Ministry of Works. What this means is that: the President is the Chief Executive officer for the GPA and GCAA. He can dip his stinky fingers into the coffers of these institutions without hesitation. This is another move to milk the GPA and GCAA

Jammeh’s latest move to transfer the GPA and GCAA to the State House is a cause for concern. Many here believe that he is unhappy with Abdou Kolley’s  declaration about the sale of MSA, before Parliament to his bogus Transportation Company Unique Transportation at a giveaway price. No tender was made for the sale of the MSA. Our sick and greedy President just took over the affairs of the MSA without proper documentation. Government’s financial Act, and the rules governing the sale of institutions were flouted with impunity.

We reported here at Freedom some months ago about the sale of the MSA. Today, we have been vindicated by the Finance Minister Abdou Kolley. Colley was honest enough to speak the truth when asked by the opposition about the sale of MSA.

The least Jammeh could do is to fire Abdou Colley. Mr. Colley should be commended for exposing the President and his mafia group in town. Kolley’s declaration is for the history books. Any new Government can investigate the corruption surrounding the sale of MSA and other sister parastatals.

Even though Abdou Kolley has been branded by his critics as an apologist to the Jammeh administration, his recent pronouncement over the sale of MSA speaks volumes about Jammeh's  administration. Kolley has given us (Investigative Reporters)  an assignment to look into the shady deals of the Jammeh administration. He has confirmed that this Government is corrupt and shady.

If Jammeh’s auction trend of our country, goes unchecked, we can bet that this country would be reduced to a ghost nation. Almost all the income generating Departments have been transferred to the President’s office. The President is evading taxes-at the same time clandestinely using tax payers hard earned funds to pursue his get rich or die slogan.

Unless, Gambians confront this mentally challenged President, the future of our dear country is unpredictable.  Jammeh has no right to transfer the said institutions to the state house. Someone needs to get up and smack the punk head  of this madman parading President.

First, he started by selling GAMTEL, GAMCEL, and NAWEC.  Today, we heard about the secret transfer of the GPA and The Gambia Civil Aviation Authority to the President’s office. Only God knows what the future hold for The Gambia. We feel sorry for Gambians. You do not derserve such a Kanilai Enterprise.  Jammeh is a thief and should be caged once and for all.
