Security Chief Says Jammeh Denied CDS Kinteh Degree Scholarship

Few days ago, I was talking to a top Security Chief in The Gambia. He told me that the President Yahya  Jammeh  spent a significant amount of  time browsing the Internet. The Security Chief informed me that  Jammeh always quote the Freedom Newspaper publications during their security briefings. That he Jammeh tends to believe in the Freedom Newspaper more than his own intelligence community.  In other words, the official said Jammeh’s decisions are motivated by what we report here at Freedom. He wondered how we are able to rattle his cage all this while without the NIA apprehending those supplying us with such classified state secrets.  Mr. President you will be arrested first before our informants are apprehended. We will elaborate more on this later in this piece.

According to the Security Chief, Yahya Jammeh is afraid of the online media. He said the President has been gripped by insecurity, and he hardly sleeps at night. He said Jammeh is not at peace and is blaming them for his own failure as a leader. The official said he suspects that the Head of state is insane. He cites the arrest of General Tamba,Momodou Lamin Badjie, Momodou Gaye, Colonel Kawsu Camara and others to justify Jammeh’s madness. He said as far he is concerned “these people have not committed any crime to warrant their detention and sacking from the Force.”

The official said it was rumoured that the President is mentally challenged. He said the entire army now believed in the said rumour and are waiting for the right moment to salvage the country.

The official said if one is not affected by Jammeh’s dwindling health conditions, he or she has a friend, or family member, who is directly affected. He accuses Jammeh of tearing the security forces apart with his so called graft fight.

The official wondered how he (Jammeh) could preach about discipline, and honesty in the army when Mr. Jammeh himself  is indiscipline. The official said if it were not the loyalty and discipline within the country’s army, Jammeh would have been toppled long time ago.  Jammeh he said, is testing their patience.

According to our well trusted security chief, the president is promoting backstabbing in the military and the army has reached a stage that no one trust each other. He said Jammeh’s ultimate objective is to knock their heads together so that he can further cling onto power.  He said as soldiers and officers of The Gambia Armed Forces, they look out for each other. He warns the President to resign before it is too late, to avoid being executed. He warns that if Jammeh fails to heed to the repeated calls for his resignation, he might as well be murdered in the too distance future. The official said he wants the Freedom Newspaper to relay this message to the world-so that Jammeh’s demise should not come as a surprise to those who mattered in Gambia’s struggle.

The Security Chief said the President does not care about the welfare of soldiers and the citizens of The Gambia. He said CDS Massaneh Kinteh paid for his own degree program in the UK, even though Jammeh is now trying to use him to stay in power.

According to our security informant, CDS’S Kinteh’s application for Government scholarship was denied by the President for no just cause. The official said there are dozens of others who Mr. Jammeh denied scholarship.

The official said it would be a matter of time before Jammeh betrays Kinteh, as he puts it “ He doesn’t like Massaneh. He pretends to be his friend, but he hates the guy. Jammeh can secretly sends his boys to kill Massaneh,” said the official.

The official said the President's mother has just returned from her Belgium Medical Checkups. He said even Asombi Bojang  confided to him  in private about Jammeh’s ailing health. The President mother said one Solo Bojang is the one trying to implicate Lang Tombong and co, but has warned Jammeh personally to set free Lang if he (Jammeh) wants to enjoy his rule.

The consensus in the army is that Yahya Jammeh is mad. Soldiers are openly saying “ BETTER MUST COME.” In other words, they are hopeful that this beast called Yahya Jammeh will soon be history.
