JAMMEH'S SECOND NAME IS CORRUPTION-WE TAKE A CLOSER LOOK AT THE GROWING OFFICIAL CORRUPTION IN THE GAMBIA!!!!!

Corruption is now deep rooted in Jammeh’s government. Government workers will tell you that “this is country hard and if the President” is stealing who am I not to solicit bribes. They go to work with empty pockets, but by business close, they go home with couple of hundreds of dalasis. Those behind such dubious activities are handling key government positions. The Department of State for Lands is said to be another place for official corruption. These officials will not issue lease to land owners unless they are given some couple of thousands to forward lease files to the Minister.

Also toping the list of official corruption list was the police. Traffic police officials will tell defaulting drivers “Ndowkay Ejolong” meaning you have to drop some money or risked going to court. A certain police officer in Serre Kunda earned the reputation of being called “Silo Bulla.” Most of the defaulting drivers intercepted by Silobula usally go scot free, as Sillo will collect monies from them. It is reported that most of the traffic officers on off duty will stormed the Bakau-Banjul road seeking for “Deepass” from their driver clients. These officers are described by the drivers as nice officers who are out to work for themselves and not the state.

While, the traffic police are denying the state millions of dalasis state revenue annually, the police prosecutors are also hell bent on burying the cases of poor litigants. Most of these officers are owning houses and expensive cars. They lived beyond their means. It is alleged that most of the promotions in the force are not based on merit, but whom you know. That police chiefs favored their errand boys in the service. Unconfired reports also suggested that some officers usually bribed their bosses to be given the opportunity to serve as UN peacekeepers in Sudan, Sierra Leone and other war ravaged countries. We also gathered that felony cases involving “money men” are being settled out of court by some greedy top brass of the force. We will expose such officers in due course.

The truth be told, Yahya Jammeh, is a big time thief. But this should not warrant the likes of Silobulla and the crew to deny our country funds. Yahya’s day will come soon!!! Those aiding and abetting him in his money laundering drive will pay for the price. Our countrymen had witnessed untold suffering under Yahya’s rule-ranging from political and economic hardship.

Donor agencies such as the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank should focus on The Gambia. The amount of official corruption taking place in this impoverished West African country, is unimaginable. Jammeh’s second name is “Corruption Jammeh.” There is no financial dicipline in the Ruling APRC.

The other day, we learned that Jammeh sent his NIA boys to one Sarhule Momodou, Modoumodou who returned from America, with Hammer. Jammeh, we learnt could not withstand seeing the young man driving a Hammer, similar to his own car. That he should be the only person to drive Hammer in The Gambia. Guess what? The NIAS told the chap that the President was prepared to offer him Five million dalasis to secure his Hammer. While our people are dying, Jammeh is compeiting for worldly materials. This is unacceptable. There were other semesters who suffered from the hands of Jammeh. We don’t have a President, but a “chepbour.” This man is partying around when there are pressing issues of national matters lingering on the air. Down with corrupt leaders like Jammeh. This man don’t have any sense of vision for our country. He is a mistaken leader!!!We rest our case.
