As Dr. Mbowe Unveils Another New Batch Of Patients To Be treated

Following his false claims that he has found cure for the world dreadful disease HIV/Aids, Gambia’s President Yahya Jammeh has resumed his treatment of  aids patients in the West African country—as another 280 new batch of patients registered with his Kanilai Aids Foundation, the Freedom Newspaper can report. Mr. Jammeh came under increasing pressure from HIV/AIDS activists, including the Scientific Community last year, who accused him of giving “false hope” to aids suffers on the continent. But such criticisms does not prevent Mr. Jammeh of The Gambia from prescribing medications for aids patients here. Mr. Jammeh is highly believed to be mentally challenged—as reports emanating from his Medical Foundation suggest that some HIV/Aids patients died in the hands of the Head of State recently. The deaths were attributed to the unsterilized herbs—mixed with poisonous liquids, which sources said complicated the health conditions of the patients.

Disclosing the resumption of the Presidential Aids treatment, former Health Minister Dr. Tamsir Mbowe, who happens to be the Director of the President’s Aids Foundation said out of  the 280 patients registered, they were able to admit 57 for treatment. Mbowe said patients benefiting from the treatment program were exposed to numerous medical examinations before their admission.

According to Mr. Mbowe the President has set two days for  his treatment program—which is Wednesdays and Thursdays of every blessed week. For a kick-start he said, they are currently treating 57 patients. Patients are admitted at the President’s home village in Kanilai, he said.

He further adds that patients suffering from HIV/AIDS would be treated on Thursday February 11th 2010,  while those with Hypertension and Asthma would be seen on  Wednesday 12th of February 2010.

The controversial Gambian leader has claimed that he can cure these diseases including infertility. But sources close to his treatment program said many patients are dying due to wrong prescriptions. The patients complained about body pain and other health complications before their sudden demise.

Bereaved families reserve the right to sue under Gambian law, but since the President is involved they are afraid to seek justice. They are obliged to accept the death patients from the President’s clinic— without an autopsy report for decent burial.

The President’s chief nurse aid is Dr. Tamsir Mbowe— a Russian trained Gynecologist, who has been accused by his colleagues of medical malpractices. Mbowe, blindly supported Jammeh’s fake claim for aids cure amongst other diseases.

The United Nations Representative, who openly challenged Mr. Jammeh’s claims for aids cure was expelled from the country within 24 hours after she was declared unwelcomed in The Gambia. She was compelled to leave or risked being deported by the Government.

Mr. Jammeh’s aids cure is associated with major health risk. For example, patients are never asked to sign a medical disclaimer or indemnity form that would exonerate the President from medical liability in the event of death or injury involving his patients, said a source attached to the President’s aids cure program.
