Breaking News: Gambia: President Jammeh Donates D1 Million Dalasi To Banjul Dockworkers?
President Jammeh Donates D1 Million Dalasi To Banjul Dockworkers?

What Is Going On???

Is This Is A Last Minute Distribution Of Jammeh’s Wealth Before His Demise??

Barely a week passes without President Jammeh donating millions of dalasis to Gambian communities, supporters, and in some occasions Government Departments. The President has been openly dishing out money to his supporters. The latest batch to bag the Jammeh “jackpot” as we call it here at Freedom,  is Gambia’s dockworkers Association. The dockworkers received a handsome donation of one million Dalasis from the President yesterday. The donation according to our mentally challenged President was as a result of the dockworkers excellent work on his Dobong farm.

The dockworkers were advised to judiciously manage the funds. They thanked Jammeh for extending such a generous donation to the Association. They also promised to put the money into good use.

The President who is increasingly worried about his future— is on a cash spree distribution amidst reports of his imminent demise as a leader of this country. Last week, he donated D2.7 Million dalasis to the people of Burufut.

In another development, Jammeh also donated D27,000 to the people of Gunjur.  He also offered a bull ritual to the villagers so that they can pray for him and his Government. The bull was shared among villagers who prayed for Jammeh’s everlasting rule and good health.

Just a Brief Breakdown of Jammeh’s Gifts:

APRC Supporters New York 2008: $10,000 dollars

APRC supporters New York 2009: $10,000 dollars

July 22ND Song Winner         2008  $ 1 Million dollars

July 22nd Song Winner    2009   $ 1 Million dollars

Pirnang Health Center   2007   D21,000

West African Insurance Institute  2008 D4.5 Million

Taiwan Disaster Victims  2009  $ 8 Million dollars

Haiti Disaster Victims  2010  $ 1 Million dollars

The President is also reported to have donated some unnamed journalists several thousands of dalasis in The Gambia. We are yet to verify the veracity of this report, but news from the grapevine suggests that Jammeh has been using politics of cash to tame perceived opponents.

People openly talked about Jammeh’s benevolent gestures. There are people yearning to lay their hands on Jammeh’s ill gotten wealth. They formed bogus organizations—with the anticipation of extorting funds in the name of such organizations from the insane Gambian President—who is in desperate need of support both at home and abroad. People tends to associate themselves with the APRC when in reality they hate the President. All they cared for is money and position.
