REPORTED DISMISSAL FOLLOWS MARIE SAIN’S MISINFORMATION TO THE UPR AND THE NATION

DICTATORS CAN NEVER BE SATISFIED.

 BY   YAYA  DAMPHA, SWEDEN

History is in the making for the wise learn a lesson that will shape their future and guide them against dishonesty. For many a time our public officers openly lies to the nation in their attempts to satisfy dictator Jammeh. However, history have proved to all that anytime these officers thinks they have done their mights by hoodwinking the citizenry, their prizes for doing that will either be dismiss with disgrace or they earned themselves a one by one meter room in mile two prison.

The government of the Gambia is once again its misinformation scheme by not telling the citizens what actually transpired at just concluded Universal Periodic Review in Geneva. Barely less than two weeks after ailing Human Rights situation of the Gambia was reviewed by 29 member states and 26 observer states. Present were also members of the NGOs including Human Rights Defenders, the office of the justice minister of the Gambia have issued a press release aired on the GRTS. According to the release the Gambia report to the Universal Periodic Review was adopted. This is considered by the government as a major achievement which reflects the country’s "dynamic and excellent leadership”. The release further stated that these achievements came on the heels of the numerous falsified and misguided reports(information) by so-called Human Rights groups and dissidents about the country’s Human Rights situation. The release said the Gambian delegation which was led by the justice minister Marie Sain Fredaus have well defended the country’s image. The report concluded that the adoption of the Gambia report was done on Friday 12. February 2010 without objection.

Hence this was what justice minister Sain Fredaus have to tell the Gambians it therefore important for all Gambian on line newspapers publish  the full report of the UPR.This will allow readers to be their own judge. For truth is after the Gambian minister’s submission 55 delegates made comments and 30 of the made recommendations for the Gambia to improve on. I would therefore, remind the justice minister and all holders of public office to bear in mind their  constitutional obligations to the Gambian people. And thereby learn to remember that dictators can never be satisfied.
