HURRICANE KANILAI
EXILED GEN. DRAMMEH???
Ex- Major General Yanks Drammeh Reported Missing!!!
By Staff Reporter Bakary Gibba, Banjul
As “Hurricane Kanilai” is travelling with an unprecedented speed—resulting to the massive arrest, detention, and dismissal of Service Chiefs, the erstwhile Deputy Chief of Defense Staff Major General Yankuba Drammeh, has been reported missing—amidst speculations that he might have fled from the jurisdiction of The Gambia, Freedom Newspaper’s Weekend Edition can report.
The former GAF number two man is believed to have absconded, even though the NIA is denying reports that Mr. Drammeh is under their custody. Drammeh’s whereabouts could not be ascertained at this hour. The agency said it had no information about Drammeh—who was fired last month, reinstated, and fired again for the second time.
As the NIA is refusing to acknowledge having Yankuba Drammeh in their custody, sources said many security chiefs were rounded up during the weekend. It is not clear as to what might have triggered their arrest, but sources hinted that the NIA is acting under a Presidential directive to effect the arrests.
As the situation appears, the whereabouts of Major General Drammeh remains unknown. Neither his family, nor the Government is unable to give an account about his exact whereabouts.
