Two former top officials of the National Drug Enforcement Agency have been released from state custody, the Freedom Newspaper can report. Deputy Director Karamo Bojang, and operation commander Ousman Sanyang were released on Saturday, sources said. No charges were filed against the sacked officials.
Families of the detainees were greeted with relief—when the news of their release was communicated to them. They welcomed the release of their loved ones, who have been languishing in prison for days.
Meanwhile, the dismissed Drug Squad Director General Ebrima Bun Sanneh remains in state custody. He was last seen at the Banjul police station late Saturday afternoon, sources said. Mr. Sanneh is yet to be charged by the state.
