Breaking News: Gambia: Wives Of Drug Squad Bosses Dismissed!!

HURRICANE KANILAI CAUSES HAVOC

SPOUSES OF DRUG SQUAD BOSSES DISMISSED!!!

Yassin Bittaye, And Mama Darboe Out!!!

As Hurricane Kanilai axed their wanting husbands, two female staffers of Gambia’s National Drug Enforcement Agency have been fired with immediate effect, the Freedom Newspaper can report.  The fired ladies are: Yassin Bitaye, the lady with the dreads (rasta)—who is incidentally the wife of  Ebrima Bun Sanneh, and Mama Darboe, wife of the erstwhile NDEA Deputy Director Karamo Bojang.

These ladies were absorbed into Gambia’s anti narcotic Agency—thanks to the help of their husbands, who transformed the NDEA into a family clan affair. They worked directly under Sanneh, and Bojang for years. They enjoyed all kinds of special treatment: ranging from undeserved promotions, study leave, overseas conferences, travel allowances, and as well as Internet training with Quantum Net—a company owned by Muhammed Jah.

However, the emergence of Hurricane Kanilai led to the disruption of the family reunion clan at the NDEA. The chickens went rose, as Hurricane Kanilai swept this organized group—which is reputed to all kinds of corruption, and power abuses. Both Yassin Bitaye, and Mama Darboe have been dismissed, sources reaching this paper said.

Mr. Bun Sanneh did not stop at hiring his wife, he also ensured that Yassin’s  brother Ebou Bittaye—a  drug felon was also absorbed into the NDEA.   The Agency had received numerous complaints against Bittaye on alleged corrupt practices, he was never fired. Bittaye got the backing of his in-law Bun Sanneh.

The erstwhile IGP Essa Badjie, and Interior Minister Ousman Sonko have been linked to this family affair “Kaffo” ring at the NDEA. Badjie, and Sonko have been accused of aiding drug lords such as Manjang, Boy Bansang, and co. It has been gathered that Sonko in particular had been fraternizing with drug female agents—including police officers.

The President’s move to clean the drug squad of corrupt officials have been widely hailed here. But observer believed that there are still some ruminants who need to be shown the exit door at the NDEA.

The Freedom Newspaper has gathered that the NDEA offices in Banjul is being used as a plea bargaining court. Many drug cases have been “killed” in the recent past thanks to corrupt NDEA officials—notably, Bun Sanneh, Karamo Bojang, and Ousman Sanneh.
