The Screening in Banjul.....
A couple of days back we wrote something on GAMWORKS,later on President Jammeh himself on line defending GAMWORKs with words like cumulative figures. This is not what is expected of a serious government. Without any doubt another punch came from what I send in towards President Jammeh's defense post. At the end what happened? Nothing is forthcoming from the state house.

Bufaaleh speaks-Screnning in Banjul???
The most recent information I received from my state house sources revealed that there are special agents assigned to find out who I am? This has been an interesting meeting because the person I was talking happens to be someone who hates what I write. He would have hammered my head with a club if he knew I was the one talking to him. Hey dude! give it another try next time we meet you failed on the first round. This very individual gave me names of people working at the NIA,some of them are green snakes in green grass.
I was surprised to know that someone from Georgetown by the name of Aziz Hydara is a member of the NIA. I have been meeting this guy with his official car almost anytime he rushes out of the Kombos. He does not know me but I know him. According to my source Aziz Hydara is from Georgetown. He is related to one Ismaila Hydara in the USA and Alaji Hydara who is in London. Our country people have to be careful. President Jammeh is succeeding because we have people within our midst who blow hot and cold air from one mouth.
If people cannot know who is in the NIA or who is related to them then President Jammeh's operations will always succeed. President Jammeh is not a democrat he kills. In that case anything and anyone near him should be known. We cannot succeed in defending our selves from his evil plans when we do not know or at least suspect where he comes from. In Banjul today the NIA is being aided by close relatives of those working there. President Jammeh's regime has become a club now. Those who belong care less, they will defend its interest at all cost. Relatives of people close to Jammeh are more active in giving leads than the NIA itself. This is why people are not all that safe.
The online reactions...protecting our sources.
When a dictator is shaken there is bound to be what is called collateral damage. It is rational for one to see Katty Joh's family stand by her side after what was written about her. Actually the intension was not to smear her name with any filth. The intension was to show how President Jammeh is tredding on the feelings of relatives of some of the people close to him without any remorse. After our story was written haven't we witnessed additional charges against Tamsir Jasseh? He is facing other civil charges and the daily observer was jubilating on that one too.
We care about what the readers say but not when things are hypocritical and one sided. A person like the writer named Jabou Joh can be understood because she was genuine. We do also understand where she was coming from.
However for writers like Mrs. Mariam Khan, I have no respect for her. She was selling credentials while pretending to be defending the indefensible. Mrs. Khan said she does not want Crispin Johnson to be chopped for anything related to sexual harassment but at the same called on the lady concerned to speak up? Speak up while in Banjul? Mariam is a joker to say the least. How about she Mariam also telling us who and who were sexually harassed in the school system. If she sends here names we will send in names of people who were harassed by people who maybe dear to her.
Mariam used to be outspoken when she was here. I have attended an event where she gave a speech. She was known by organisations like GAMCOTRAP or the women's bureau because it was encouraging to see a female writer flourishing like a flower. But on this one I could really not know why she chose to equate Crispon's private life to what was written? Who would have cared about Crispin and Amadou Samba or President Jammeh if they were not part of those helping cause a civil war in The Gambia? By the way we thank her for saying that she is a government officer. Or was she not saying so?
Mariama, we are not surprised about your attempts to censor the Freedom Newspaper, because you were among those Gambians who put money ahead of crediblity just to serve the famous media commission, which was designed to end free press in The Gambia. The same commission witch hunted Deyda Hydara, a friend of mine. Mariam, do you remember when Deyda told you people that he put his life on the line to uphold press freedom in The Gambia? The same Hydara told your boss AK Savage that he was not going to register the point. But you went ahead to issue a press release saying that media chiefs agreed to register. Your statement was disputed by the same media chiefs. I'm sure your Editor-in-Chief Alieu Sayang knew at the time that you were lying. But Maraim never bothered about her personal credibility. You will be second guessing as to who is Bulfaaleh, but Bufaaleh knows all the staffers of the Information Department.
I'm surprised that you proclaimed to be a government official in your mail to the Freedom. Do you want to tell me that by working with the women's bureau qualifies you to be one? Well, in Jammeh's government anybody can claim to be an official. But we know who is who. You should be real and stop playing with the gallery. We respect you as a woman, please, please, please don't abuse the respect. Hope to see you in Brikama upon your return from Italy.
The only thing we can say to Mariam is that we know what it means to say what we said. We would never write the same thing on Momodou Sabally(she knows who Sabally is).
This is not a way of shutting anyone up we are simply defending our position from home. If we were to write more on what obtains in certain offices back home then people like Mariam Khan would have stopped reading this paper by now.
We do not spend time on trivial issues we write about bad public figures. Anything around them is not private because they use tax payers money to lead that life. Mariam is in the West she knows very well if the Italian PM dares do something related to sexual harassment? Would he escape criticisms even a second after the act if he were to do so? Did Mariam follow the story that made the former South African Vice President resign?
