I spoke with Pa Nderry soon after our lengthy phone conservation this morning, and he seems to appreciate very much the premise of our conversation .Infact, while I was on the phone with him , he accessed Global Witness on the "Net" and found some pertinent information that mentioned Baba Jobe and Gambia. Pa Nderry's humility, as a much younger brother humbles me, and I will reciprocate to him with the same ador.

reported from Dakar about the most recent perennial oil pipeline explosion which occurred just outside of Lagos, Nigeria in which, sofar, 150 people have died. My aunt called me earlier today from London, and she had enquired about you and your family . She said that Mariam Jack is still incommunicado and no one has seen her ever since she was abducted from her premises in the middle of the night when ,of course ,she had only her nighties on.This is quite pathetic and uncivil, to say the least. Lady Mariam Cham, her mother, has become so sickened and frustrated that she barely can eat anything but porridge/'rouy' at a time when Sir Alieu has reached an old age--at least 84 years.

This is very viscerally sad and painful, and we all supplicate to the Lord that she is in good state of health.Just imagine a woman of Mariam's age --53 years no less --to be interned for so long without any visitation from her family and loved ones. If history and karma--if I may borrow from Hindu philosophy-- are any guide, Mariam Jack's present and unjust ordeal will not go unpunished. In the ordinary layman's world view every thing may seem eternal, but seriously and honestly speaking, Mariam's case will be an aberration from the gross human rights violations and impunity prevailing in Gambia these past twelve years .As monotheistic believers of our Lord -THE ALMIGHTY-the Gambian people shall be delivered from this self proclaimed and Johnny -come- Lately and disguised Islamic fundamentalist who does not even know that a moslem is not supposed to put his prayer beads on his left hand,as one Gambian Imam has observed and confided to me jokingly.

We all remember, just before the unfortunate 9/11 incident , that Yahya had wanted to legislate into the Gambian laws a statute that would have required every Gambian girl of school going age to wear the moslem veil ,irrespective of their religious faith, a position which he quickly jettisioned upon realzing America's resolve to fight Islamic fundatalism and its semblance anywhere it may occur.

Mariam's ancestry on both her mother's and father' side are direct pro genies of the household where Shiekh Omar Taal's mother came from and ,thus the reason why I am confidently sanguine that the good forces will imminently prevail over the diabolical forces of the bees that live in the rainforest/ 'soutou' south of us in Casamance. These bees that are deeply rooted in atheism /and or polytheism are the belief systems in which Yahya suscribes to and are totally not dependable . A kinsman of his once told me about a very funny story about these bee-ancestral worship during his group's circumcision ritual in the Fonyi- Kansala"soutou" during which time they were warned that anybody who could not trace his ancestral roots to the shrine they were about to enter should not proceed beyond a particular demarcated point.

However,it happened that there were some in the group who had become overly assimilated and thought that they were one and the same went and beyond the demarcation line and their gods stung every mother-fs... (please disregard this expletive remark) in the crowd irrespective of who was authentic or not and some of them even defecated on themselves ,and I understand lately that Yahya had tried to replicate the same ancestral worship at the McCarthy Square /July 22nd whatever and these same bees failed to answer to his call.

The significance and relevance of the aforementioned are quite simplistic and straight forward. Yahya does not have any supernatural power to make us, particularly the unseasoned majority of our people, believe that he is somehow a demiurge. Believe me my dear uncle there is no such prowess in the atheistic and polytheistic cosmology that Yahya Jammeh is claiming over us as a peoplle that form the modern state of Gambia as a new nation because Yahya is an ethno-nationalist, which we all must recognize by now, whose dream runs quite antithetical to our panafrican idealism.

We have strong evidence that he supports the rebel secessionists of the Casamance who have been relentlessly fighting to separate themselves from the rest of the Senegambian people since it became known in the mid 70's that hydrocarbon reserves have been confirmed in what is being referred in the oil industry as Dome Flores Reserves which are upstream and the offshore reserves extend into the border of Guinea Bissau and that was the reason why the proprietary ownership had to be referred to the international court where it was decided that Senegal would have the majority ownership of the reserves and the rest belonging to Guinea Bissau, the specifics of the numbers and equity I cannot restate here-in . I will have to go back to give you the numerical details.

Regarding Yahya's claimed oil deposits in offshore Gambia, I'd have to be honest to say that the existence might be there , and I refer you to check on your own the following acronym: MSGBC Hydrocarbons,meaning Mauritania,Senegal,Gambia Bissau and Conakry, the interpretation of which is quite technical and any further and detailed information can only be obtained from world wide energy consultants such as Cambridge Energy Associates which would cost millions and thereby beyond our reach.You remember your Senegalese friends had wondered why PETROSEN of Senegal has opened a marketing office in Houston, TX.

The oil industry is very secretive from its very inception and discovery in Ohio/Eastern Pennsylvania in 17...something when a Dartmouth professor discovered its energy component and the rise of the world's first billionaire in today's dollar terms- J D Rockefeller- the very cause of our modern day anti -trust laws,more than a century old as we speak.

Anyway ,the premise of this communication is about Mariam ,and I seem to have been carried away by the political discourse which we can talk about over the phone with very strong substantiations such as Yahya's clever manipulation of having used the reserve bank -Central of Gambia - to have issued and sold T. Bills and / Notes at the tune of USD 72 million between 1994--1998 to unsuspecting Gambians who had no inkling that the CBG was being looted by Baba Jobe ,Lang Konteh et.al...this is lame and very unscrupolous in a governmental process.

And, Pa Nderry,I will give you in the next few days upon hearing from you the details of Dr.Ousman Saine's publication about Yahya in the World's Military Journal about 10--12 years ago, the premise of which I cannot substantively recall because it has been a long time since then .Anyway, Dr.Saine is a brother whom I respect very much and dearly. I had met him over here during a wedding ceremony of one of the Krubally family members. There is no need to go and dig out what he had said in that publication even if it differs diametrically to his present position about Yahya's government because we all have been fooled over the years.
