ARREST WARRANT FOR KOMBO SOUTH
CHIEF
By Staff Reporter Bakary Gibba, Banjul
The Kombo South land dispute is brewing again, with the Brikama Magistrates court issuing a bench warrant for the arrest of the District Chief Sheriff Ajjeh Janneh. Mr. Janneh would be arrested if seen within the locality. He is wanted in connection with some land cases he presided over in the past, which needed clarification, judicial sources said.
The officer commanding Western Region Criminal Investigations unit Pa Kebba Darboe placed numerous calls to Mr. Janneh’s home Monday, but Kombo South Chief never returns his phone calls. He was indisposed at the material time.
Also summoned at the Brikama police station were: the Alkalo of Tujering, Gunjur, and Kartong. They were invited to the police station to shed light on the said disputed land cases.
Ba Jerreh Demba—the younger brother of the alkalo of Siffoe was also seen at the Brikama police station Monday. While at the station, Mr. Demba tried to prevail on the Gunjur chief to show up at Brikama to avoid possible arrest and embarrassment.
