The son of  the Senegalese President Karim Wade was in Banjul to see the former Guinean Navy Chief General Bubu Na Tchuto, who was on exile in The Gambia, following a failed coup attempt against the former Guinean leader Neino Vierra, highly placed sources in the heart of the Jammeh Government revealed today.  General Bubu, who had his assets frozen by the Obama administration, has been linked to cocaine trafficking, and money laundering in the region.  Our source said he was personally trailing Karim Wade during his Banjul visit, which was sometimes in 2008, where he met with the Guinean drug lord at a place (withheld) for reasons best known to the source. It is not yet clear what business ties Karim Wade had with General Bubu, but the State House source said a barbecue was organized during Karim’s private trip to Banjul.

What was Karim Wade doing in Banjul is the billion dollar question.  Our source promised to furnish us with more details about Karim meeting with General Bubu in days to come. The source said he is compiling a report, which he intends to share with the Freedom Newspaper for publication. Multiple sources in Banjul confirmed Karim’s meeting with General Bubu.

“ It is my ardent belief that people linked to General Bubu should be exposed.  If the US State Department and the UN are concerned about General Bubu’s activities in the region, it is incumbent upon us as security operatives to turn in folks aiding and abetting this drug dealer. It is only Karim Wade who can clear himself. He needs to explain what he was doing in Banjul.  He cannot deny that he never visited General Bubu. He was here in Banjul and we have evidence to that effect,” the source said.

     Are Cocaine Dealers In Senegal?

Recently, anti narcotic officials in The Gambia busted foreign nationals linked to a Columbian drug cartel network. The Holland Gambian Company, which specializes on fishing activities in the impoverished West African country, was transformed into a cocaine distribution outlet in the region. The company had a cocaine lab in Bonto, where one billion dollars street value of cocaine was concealed.

The company’s local staff were interviewed by police, which led to the arrest of the its Managing Director Rudy Rasoalhamid Ghazi, a Dutch national; Godwin Barset, a Ghanaian/Sierra Leonean national; Maimuna Sesay, a Nigerian/Sierra Leonean national; Jorge Ivan Sanchez-Tabares, a Mexican/Liberian national;  Dennis Wilgo Winter, a Dutch national, Ephiam Micheal Chidubem, a Nigerian; and Juan Carlos Sanchez Eric Porping, Luis Dose Fermin, Esledan Zuala, George Ivan Sanchez Juan Carlos Diaz, all Venezuelan nationals. The accused persons are currently standing trial in Banjul.

As the drug case is pending in Banjul, news came in that some of the accused persons fled to neighboring Senegal. Upon interviewed by police, the indicted accused persons claimed that some of their accomplices are in Senegal, although the Wade administration is yet to lay its hands on the alleged drug traffickers who fled to neighboring Senegal.

Our source said the cocaine trade is a complex matter—adding that influential officials in the region are associated with the trade.
