17 Gambians Graduated at Navarro College
Despite working full time shifts, pressure at home because of an evidently corrupt and incompetent government, Gambians abroad are working very hard in obtaining degrees in various fields of life, and realizing their educational dreams. These are hard working young men and women that Jammeh boldly regards as unwanted sons and daughters of Africa, which many observers denied.

Gambian gratuates
On May 13th 2006, 17 Gambian students graduated with associate degrees from Navarro College in Corsicana Texas. The graduation was marked with a convocation ceremony, a reception and a football match against Gambians in Dallas. Parents, facility members and friends from the Gambia and across the USA witnessed the occasion.
The guess speaker for the reception was Mr. Tamsir M‘Bai, a graduate of Navarro College and a lead software engineer. Mr. Mbye underscored the importance of education in national development, and brighter future. He encouraged the graduate to be role models and serve as good ambassadors of the Gambia. Mr. M’Bai, also challenged the students to be focused and to capitalize on any opportunities to better their lives. He congratulated the grandaunts for achieving such a success.
The program was chaired by Mass R.O Cham. Pa Serign Secka, a graduate delivered the vote of thanks. Freedom newspaper congratulates all the 2006 graduates from Corsicana, TEXAS. We are very proud to see our citizens making a step forward in their lives.
