Hagie Kumba Cham, a Gambian fugitive, who was wanted by the Hall County Sheriff Department Atlanta Georgia,  on a separate offence, until his arrest this past Saturday August the 7th, has been charged for the death of Muhamadou Touray of  4744 CEDAR PARKWAY,  Stone Mountain, GA 30083, the College Park Police Department said.  The 44 year old Gambian National was charged with Aggravated Assault for the attempted murder of Touray. He was also charged with Aggravated Battery for the permanent damages incurred due to the impact of the hammer, he allegedly used to assault Mr.  Touray, sources familiar with the case tells the Freedom Newspaper. The late Muhamadou Touray was the owner of the One-Stop  Clothing Store until the time of his murder.

Police said they received a dispatch call about a fight at 2660 Godby Rd, College Park GA 30349—Saturday evening at about 18:15, and upon arrival at the scene of the crime Mr. Touray was found lying on the ground unconscious.  He was bleeding profusely.  A very large pool of blood was at his head and continuing to grow. It appeared he was struck on the top of his head with a blunt object. The object was reported to have been a hammer by witnesses,” police said.

According to the College Park Police Department “Visible pieces of what appeared to be skull fragments and brain matter were mixed into the blood as well.”

Mr. Touray, who just returned from a trip after visiting  his native country The Gambia, was taken to the Grady Memorial hospital, where he was later pronounced death.  His liver was  lacerated due to a severe blunt trauma. This was attributed to the hammer Hagie Kumba Cham allegedly used to hit him on the head.

A manhunt search was mounted. Police interviewed couple of witnesses, which led to the arrest and subsequent detention of Mr. Cham at the College Park jail, police said.  At this time, while officers were outside the establishment, multiple people began pointing at a subject saying, "that`s him!". Upon hearing the accusations, the subject began shouting, "I killed that mo***r fu****r!," said a source familiar with the case.

After detaining Mr. Cham, police said, he continued to shout, "I killed the mo***erfu**er!", and was attempting to entice the crowd forming outside the establishment.

Mr. Cham was also confirmed to have an active warrant out of Hall County prior to his murder charge arrest, police said. Police would not go into specific about the nature of the offence Cham was accused of.

Captain David Block, of the College Police Department  Criminal Investigations  Division tells the Freedom Newspaper that Muhamadou Touray, could not survive the attack. Mr. Block says Touray later died at the hospital. He says the accused Hagie Kumba Cham has since been detained and charged with the offence.

The circumstances surrounding the death of Mr. Touray is not yet clear, but sources said Mr. Cham has in the past confronted the late Mr. Touray over a “marital issue.” Touray has been supportive to Cham’s family during his past encounter with the law (Detention), but for unknown reasons Cham started to develop mistrust , and hatred for the late Muhamadou Touray, sources said.

The available address for Hagie Kumba Cham, prior to his arrest was at the HOMELESS COLLEGE PARK, GA 30337, police said.
