Nigeria Film Website Accused Of Plagiarism

My name is Pa Nderry M’Bai. I am the Publisher of The Gambian based US online Freedom Newspaper. Our attention has been brought to the plagiarizing of our story by your medium captioned “Breaking News: Gambia: JAMMEH WASTED OVER #300,000 POUNDS ON A NOLLYWOOD MOVIE!” The said story was published by the http://nigeriafilms.com without giving credit to the source of the story.  Here is the link of your publication:  http://nigeriafilms.com/news/8618/17/gambia-president-jammeh-sinks-300000-pounds-in-nol.html  

This is a clear case of journalistic dishonesty. We demand that the Management of the www.nigerianfilms.com  website to give credit to our site or remove the story from your news publication.  We worked very hard to piece the story together, and the least we expect from a leading news site like yours is to give credit where it is due.  The days of hijacking people’s hard earned stories without giving credit to the source is over.  Plagiarism undermines decent, honest, and objective journalism.  We expect you to know better. 

It is imperative to note that a number of Ghanaian newspapers including the Ghana Peace FM news site quoted your purported Nollywood  news scoop.  Here is link to the Peace FM story which was featured on Google news:   http://showbiz.peacefmonline.com/news/201008/70081.php

Our story earlier appeared on Google news Gambia section.  It is always good to cite your sources of information in the interest of ethical journalism. It pays to abide by highest journalistic standards and ethics.  Your reporter is acting as if he is the author of the story, when in fact he lifted the piece from the Freedom Newspaper. Our piece was reproduced by a number Nigerian Newspapers without giving credit to the source of the story. Please correct this journalistic dishonesty in the interest of fair reporting.
