Says Jammeh Is An Economic Prostitute

Dodou Kassa Jatta, a prominent Gambian politician has said that President Yahya Jammeh’s own mother Ajaratu Asombi Bojang was staying in an incomplete building in Cape Point Bakau, before the toppling of the 30 years PPP rule. Kassa a member of the opposition United Democratic Party said Jammeh’s mother was living under economic hardship pre-APRC rule, but today her son  Yahya Jammeh has transformed himself as an “economic prostitute.”  Kassa accused President Jammeh of looting national coffers to the detriment of the nation. He said Jammeh is involved in all kinds of businesses in the impoverished West African country. He said Jammeh is a certified thief, who is hell bent on looting national coffers. “ Yahya Jammeh is an economic prostitute. Jammeh was one of the poorest Gambians  you can find in this country.  His own mother was living in an incomplete building in Bakau, before the coup, but today Jammeh has robbed Gambians by stealing our national coffers. She was living in a house without windows. His mother was struggling to survive here in Bakau. She was also watching the incomplete house for the owner.   How can Jammeh turn around today to behave as if he was born rich. He is from a poor family straight up,” Jatta said.

Mr. Jatta who suffered numerous arrest and torture in the past because of  his political opinion against the Jammeh Government said “How can a responsible President sell meat, sugar, and other merchandise to his fellow citizens? Jammeh doesn’t love this country. He is out to destroy The Gambia,” Kassa said in his weekly Freedom Radio Program show, which was officially launched on Monday in Bakau.  Jatta has been allocated weekly airtime on Radio Freedom to discuss issues relating to Governance, and democracy in The Gambia.

In this month of Ramadan, Jatta went on, Gambians are going to bed hungry because of this  “greedy” President, who thought that he owns the country and her people. He said Jammeh has transformed himself as a businessman to expense of the suffering masses. He accuses the President of abusing his office.

“ Everything in this country belongs to Jammeh.  He is into all kind of business. He transformed this country into his personal property,” he said.

Jatta said President Jammeh is encouraging coups in the country. Jatta observed that coups are bad, but Jammeh is in the habit of celebrating coup in the Gambia.  He said Mr. Jammeh is sending wrong signals to the army that coups are legitimate action. He said Jammeh is setting a dangerous precedence in the country.

According to Kassa Jatta, President Jammeh “is not the only man in The Gambia, and it is incumbent upon patriotic Gambians to end Jammeh’s madness. Jatta said he is ready to put his life on the line.  

Regarding the one billion dollar cocaine bust, Jatta said the Jammeh administration owe an explanation to Gambians how the cocaine got into the West African country. He said the Jammeh administration is reputed to be corrupt and the onus lies on the regime to protect the country from being becoming a drug hub. 

Jatta said President Jammeh’s sudden wealth is questionable. He said Jammeh is the most corrupt head of state in Africa.  He accuses The Gambian leader of rampant corruption and abuse of office.

Mr. Jatta also revealed that President Jammeh has married a second wife, but he Jammeh is hiding the story from Gambians. He said the reality is that Jammeh had married a Banjul woman, but at the same he ( Jammeh) doesn’t want  the private press to report the story.
