President Jammeh has proven the Freedomnewspaper right.
President Jammeh hates seeing reports on these cracks but they must be revealed because they are a serious threat to the stability of the Gambia.These are the precipitants that lead to a volcanic eruption in West African countries. President Jammeh is denying these facts but they have succeeded in braking the backbone of our dear country. This is the same trend that brought Sani Abachc down. It is now threatening the state in Chad.This is the same trend that sent former President Konan Bedie of Ivory Coast packing. This is the same trend that attracted mercenaries like Foday Sankoh in Sieraleone. President Jammeh likes hearing.."everything is ok Sir.." That is usually a lie when said by those who are driving pajeros in the State house. Everything is not ok. There are butterflies around the presidency or abroad trying to offer the Presidency cheap consultancy on Intelligence. This does not and cannot work where bitter blood exists. The Presidency itself participated in creating these bitter feelings. President Jammeh receives,talks to and insults senior army officers in the presence of their juniors. He insults cabinet ministers as if they are school going kids. He replaces people with their lowest assistants instead of reprimanding them through the established codes of conduct. President Jammeh himself is the security threat.
President Jammeh's remarks after promoting Junior officers over Commander Bajinka.
The President of the Republic of The Gambia is the commander in chief. He has a huge responsibility. This is too heavy to be played with. After promoting some officers over Commander Bajinka the President was quoted saying..." Promotion is not based on seniority,it based on performance or merit.." this could be true where senior officers are relaxed or incompetent. However,in this case he the President knows that he was not impartial when he made that statement. He did it because of other reasons that we will spill on line this evening.

The removal of Vincent Jatta was not the least appreciated by the Darsilami youth in Kombo Central. Why? Because Vincent Jatta has been fully involved in the local community's activities. This is what some of these youths called a role model. Vincent made a name for President Jammeh in that area because of his humility and dedication to work. His fame started growing in that area. Little did Vincent know about the presence of a snake called Yuba Sambou. Yuba wanted to be seen as the old Pa of the youth. He envied Vincent's fame therefore prepared a smelling report against Vincent and sent it to President Jammeh. Yuba Sambou according to my source made President Jammeh believe that Vincent instigated the Youth of Darsilami to riot against him. Vincent was unfortunate because he was facing the same fight from Commander Bajinka at the time. It was a ripe moment for Bajinka but he waited for a better time.
The Deida Hydara peaceful march-A trap that got Vincent Jatta.
After the death of Deida Gambian Journalists organized a peaceful march against the act. During this period Vincent was the Army chief of staff. Vincent deployed troops to all sensitive locations to avoid a repeated version of the April 11 2000 riot. He asked these troops to cooperate with the citizens while doing their duties. This is what is expected of a professional soldier.This according to my source is not the way President Jammeh wants things. He would have expected soldiers to look fierce and ready to kill during a demonstration marking the death of Deida Hydara a journalist he hated very much. Vincent instead stood to protect life and property while being loyal to the flag.
Darfur Contingent made matters worse for Vincent Jatta-5am was just too early and suspicious for a paranoid President!
Unfortunately for Vincent this was the period when the Darfur contingent to Sudan was getting ready to leave. Vincent decided to do two things at once. This cost him his job and was about to cost him his life as well.
Vincent on one early morning was on patrol. He went to see the personnel who were posted at different locations on the eve of the Deida Hydara's peaceful march. He made sure that the men and women in uniform were there and ready to protect life and property. As soon as he completed his normal round,he then went to the State house to see the Darfur contingent before they took off. Vincent out of trust thought it was ok for him to go unannounced. He arrived at the scene then informed Commander Bajinka that he was there to see the personnel who were on their way to Darfur. Vincent according to the source I spoke to within the state guard came to the state house around 5 am in the morning. Commander Bajinka who prior to this visit had grudges against Vincent misinformed the President about Vincent's visit. The President is constantly paranoid therefore does not take such things lightly. As soon as he was told the man came there unannounced he was ready to unleash his bitterness on the poor guy once and for all. Why on earth wouldn't an army chief of staff be able to visit his men at anytime he wishes? This shows a crack between two senior military officers who were guarding the same man! Too bad for the stability of our country.
Vincent Jatta was fired from his position after having been there for only 36 days!
Preference,infighting within the State guard and the army...Politics in the army!
Commander Bajinka is a very close friend and supporter of Baboucarr Jatta.It is as if there are political parties in the army. This is a very dangerous precedence being fermented by President Jammeh himself.For example...When Colonel Lang Tombong Tamba was promoted and Baboucarr was replaced by Vincent Jatta before he was finally sacked ,Commander Bajinka did not like it at all. He pefers Baboucarr Jatta over Vincent Jatta.
This triggered a dirty fight which eventually included the President himself.
Why President Jammeh worries about Vincent Jatta's position?
According to the source I spoke to who is within the state guard itself,Vincent Jatta has been a camp commander for a long time. This makes him so popular amongst the soldiers. He is popular because he cares for the welfare of the service men and women under his command. It is reported President Jammeh did not feel comfortable when soldiers were jubilating after Vincent was promoted to army chief of staff. According to my source there were soldiers who ran from Yundum barracks to Bakau Fajara singing and clapping over the man's promotion.
This did not go down well with President Jammeh. Finally Vincent met his fate,he was sacked,jailed and disgraced. President then told the soldiers he was in control not Vincent.
Commander Bajinka dug a hole for himself too...He recommended Ndure Cham
After the fall of Vincent Jatta Commander Bajinka also started fortifying himself with people he thought were his good buddies. He played a key role in the promotion of former army chief of staff Ndure Cham. Automatically President Jammeh promoted Ndure Cham,showering him with a lot of praises for that matter.
For those who did not know Ndure Cham before the march 21st coup d'etat,it is important that I throw light on he was before the famous coup. Ndure Cham has ever since been known as the rebel soldier. He used to be the arresting officer during the early days of the 1994 July 22nd coup. He was as active in arresting former PPP stalwarts as Sanna Sabally was. Ndure Cham's nature does not match President Jammeh's at all. After a while he was himself rounded up and then jailed for 2 years in Mile Two Central Prisons. It is Ndure Cham and President Jammeh who can tell us why he was jailed for two years and then later on promoted to guard the same commander in chief.
The above are very clear cracks in the army,state guard and entire security forces of The Gambia,under President Jammeh as commander in chief...
