The Beginning of the End- Yahya Jammeh MUST Go
By Baati Jollof
In the beginning was the WORD and the word was with God and the Word was God. As Muslim students taking Bible Knowledge at Saint Augustine’s high School many years ago, during the good old days, this is what we were taught by those disciplinarian priests. The power of the WORD which formulates letters, articles and speeches is just wonderful. Without the Word, the media can then be term as useless. This is what Yahya Jammeh had failed to understand for the past twelve years.

There is no doubt that Freedom Newspaper had given Yahya Jammeh many sleepless nights.
The recent desperate act of the Gambia Government to employ the services of hackers to rock down the online Freedom Newspaper reveals a lot about a regime that is in her final days. There is no doubt that Freedom Newspaper had given Yahya Jammeh many sleepless nights. I have said on this forum before that Yahya reads the Freedom Newspaper every day. The truth is that over the past few years, Yahya had tried unsuccessfully to clean his dirty deeds, but to no avail. The atrocities that Yahya has committed over the innocent Gambian people is just too much to digest. This can no longer go unchallenged and sooner rather than later, all scores will be settled.
For Yahya to use tax payers money to pay criminals to hack an online newspaper, manifest the frustrated attitude of a desperate despot who wants to clinch to power by "any means necessary. The cause of Yahya’s frustration is that since the brutal mass murder of a number of our gallant forces at the Bakau Barracks on the night of November 11 1994, some of whom were buried alive in unknown location ; the callous, senseless and deliberate murder of our children on April 10 and 11 2000; the murder of Deyda hydara, which was directly ordered by Yahya; the monster has been trying to convenience the international community that he is not a beast. Gambians have resisted this by all means, in writing to expose the criminal tendencies of Yahya Jammeh and his cronies and clique of murderers by using the power of the word. The Online Freedom Newspaper in particular is in the forefront of this national duty to inform the world that yahya is nothing but a murderer and a malicious liar and thus he MUST Go.
Secondly, Yahya has also come to realise that most of us senior civil servants and the elite in the country in particular, do not like him. Even the youthful ranks in the country are now disassociating themselves with this regime that has almost offended every family. The continuous meaningless arrest and brutal torture of Gambian citizens has left us really disturbed about Yahya’s intensions. As technocrats who are in close contact with his SOSs and PSs everyday, we know that Yahya is as empty as a dead cannon ball. The truth is that even the secretaries of state complain about his stupidity and know all attitude, when in the real sense he is a big maroon.
Presently, in the Gambia very few people read the Daily Observer because we know that it is now a propaganda paper that is use to help refine the dented image of the murderer called yahya jammeh. Our alternative to know the truth is the online papers, which come out with information that the national papers can no longer write. Some of us who still dear, continue to write for this paper, read this paper and with the greatest caution, make print out for our friends who do not have access to computers.
In this regard an agenda is set for discussion every evening in our homes and other places of relaxation. The citizens in general discuss the reports of these papers everyday and truly this is what keeps our lives going. We have simply refused to be misinformed and misguided by the unethical daily Observer and GRTS.
Our senior brother, Saja Taal who in the mid 1960s up to the early 1970s, had advocated to us the issues of radicalism and nationalism, and denounced corruption in the strongest possible terms, has today turned himself to an idiotic puppet, a societal misfit, a filthy, impulsive, pathological and shameless liar, a despicable tout, a dirty blackmailer and an unworthy son of Banjul. At the Kent Street Vous in the 1970s he criticised the Jawara regime of being tribalistic, Saja was very much instrumental in the demonstration during President Leopold Senghore’s visit to The Gambia.
Today, it is a shame that Saja has now chosen to eat and dine with murderers. More disgusting is the fact that our once great friend has been employed in the lying game by yahya. Saja, like the filthy, selfish and unfaithful Neneh Maccdoll and Isatou Njie Saidy, continue to feed Yahya with a diet of lies, in order to maintain their positions. The more they lie to him, and implicate innocent civil servants the more the murderous fool believes, that these treacherous sycophants and murder accomplices are the true and loyal members of the Arrogant, Perturbed and Restless Criminals- APRC.
But the writing is on the wall and sooner rather than later God will come to our aid and the demon call Yahya will be put under control and will be held accountable for all his nasty actions. There is no government in the world that has become more powerful that the country in which it is based. Yahya has decided to take on all Gambian and in doing this he will surely fail like his mentor Abacha . Yahay has told us that he is prepared to kill twenty thousand Gambians, but the truth is that he cannot kill 1.5 million Gambians, no matter how hard he tries. Mark my word.
Your recent massive promotion of army officers is a pretext to buy their loyalty. But loyalty in the army or anywhere else, is not bought, it is cherished and attained through the respect of those who serve their nation and above all through the respect of the contributions of the entire citizenry. We know that officers like Musa Jammeh and Alhagie Martin (Lagos) have been promoted because of the brutish treatment that they have leased out to their colleagues, whom they collect at night from the mile Two prisons and moved them to the NIA torture chambers at marina Parade. Jammeh and Martin together with the likes of Solo Badjie, Malick Tamba and Bombardeh continued to be the messengers of death for Yahya. Believe me you will also be held responsible for your actions on the day of reckoning. Decent army officers worthy of their name should resist and refuse all inhumane orders, most especially the torture of juveniles, women, journalists, soldiers and the citizens in general. After darkness come light, and we are beginning to see the reflection of the rays of the sun on the horizon. The Gambia Must be Free.
