By Yankuba Jambang-Associate Editor
Reports
from Gambia say the president, Yahya Jammeh has indicated that he would
buy the Brufut villas which were built for the AU summit.
According
to well placed sources from Banjul, the Gambia's rubber stamp
parliament was interested in knowing the fate of the state financed
villas after the AU summit is over. Jammeh accordingly offered to the
villas which have a price tag of 81000 Pound Sterlings (over D32M)!
The question is where did he get the money?
It's
also reported that the National Water and Electricity Company, NAWEC
has said that it will no be able to sustain the street lights along the
Tourist Industrial Area after the AU summit.
We will have more details on the story later.
