The ordeal of detainees in Mile Two, foam used to stop then from screaming out of pain...
Mile
Two Prison wardens could simply not stop themselves from exposing the
evil things President Jammeh is doing to Gambians behind bars. One of
the relatives of the dead detainees could simply not stop his tears
from rolling down his cheeks,when he heard this story of torture and
pain. What President Jammeh is doing to those detainees at Mile Two and
the NIA Chambers cannot be explained in details on this paper.
Tortured by Jammeh's chickas
It is so
graphic and bad to say the least. We cannot explain these things in
detail out of respect for those affected. This of course excludes the
explanations I received from a doctor who relayed to me what he heard
from a relative of one of the detainees. These relatives have given
up on trying to get their relatives out. Their only hope now IE is
that, they are working on piecing evidences together at least one day
be able to use it against President Jammeh in a court of law outside
the Gambia. The prison officer who could not simply stay quiet smuggled
a sketchy note to the detainee's relatives....later on he came back
with verbal explanations on how these detainees are being tortured.
THE CHIAKAS IN ACTION,FOAM,WIRES,CLUBS,JUDO STYLES AND ELECTRIC SHOCKS USED.
The
chiakas use foam or 'sponge' when torturing these detainees. The foam
or 'sponge' is cut into a long piece. When the detainee is brought in
in shackles or hand cuffs,this foam or 'sponge' is forced into his or
her mouth to the throat then thoe mouth sealed with a powerful
cellulose tape. The purpose is to stop the detainee from screaming. The
Chiakas chose this method because they were told the prisoners or the
prison officers themselves leaked how Marenah and other were killed.
They do not want even the next cell mate to hear the slightest sound
when someone is being tortured. Even groaning is not possible. When
they are about to end the session the chiakas bend down near the ears
of those being tortured then warn them not to try screaming. Usually
these threats are done with a fully loaded short gun on the detainee's
head. According to this note and the verbal explanations from the
prison officer everything is done at night. The chiakas take female
detainees to NIA. There are no reports yet that any of the detainees
has been sexually abused but there are reports that it is part what the
chiakas have on their list.
The late Daba Marena-He was killed together with four other security detainees following what the government called "a foiled coup."
According to sources this plus severe
beatings led to the death of Marenah and others. Sources revealed that
Musa Jammeh used judo on Marenah and Ngorr Secka. This is why Ngorr's
spinal cord is seriously affected. The chiakas also used clubs when
beating Marenah while his head was covered with a black tarpauline.
They also use electric shocks and wires on the detained journalists.
These details would not have been known if this prison officer did not
volunteer spilling the beans. This wickedness was just too much for him
to keep in his chest.
A medical
doctor said this to me when I called him after receiving a tip of from
the relatives..." blocking the nostrils of a human being for more than
seven minutes mean killing him or her. No one can survive suffocation
or choking anything longer than that.." I could not stop myself from
shedding tears when the doctor said this to me. I could not simply
imagine the pain Marenah and team went through before dying. It is just
too bad for our country and its people.
When the details on one of the dead detainees are ultimately gathered they will spread on this paper for everyone to see.
Already
stories on the atrocities being committed by the Jammeh regime have
been disseminated to the AU delegates. We used very very secretive and
efficient methods to do so.
President
Jammeh will be amazed when the AU ends. He will see flames from other
heads of states. Of course President Jammeh cannot stop us from
distributing these pamphlets. We would wait and see if he is going to
arrest the AU delegates when he or the NIA see them reading pieces from
the freedomnewspaper.
