PANIC GRIPPED GAMBIANS FOLLOWING DICTATOR’S ABRUPT US TRIP!

There is a growing panic in the Gambia, following dictator Yahya Jammeh’s abrupt departure from the country, for an unexplained United States trip, the Freedom Newspaper can report.  Citizens are increasingly concerned about the President’s wellbeing—leading to a wide spread nationwide speculations about the circumstances surrounding Jammeh’s US trip. Rumors of coup plot are circulating at this hour.  The military is likely to cease power before his return.  There are talks in the grapevine that Jammeh’s cancer illness is bothering him at this hour. What’s evident though Yahya Jammeh was on Thursday  swiftly flown out of the country onboard his personal jet—heading for the US.

The President left Banjul on Thursday for Washington DC, but the state did not specifically explain the reason behind Jammeh’s unplanned journey.  His Moroccan wife Zeinab Suma Jammeh, and kids arrived in DC a week before Jammeh’s trip.

The trip coincides with Senegal’s threat to invade the Gambia if Jammeh fails to stop harboring  MFDC rebels fleeing from the Southern province of Casamance.

President Jammeh is still in the US.  Reports have that he’s faced with health and marital problems.  Administration sources said Mr. Jammeh has been diagnosed with cancer and high blood.

If Jammeh dies today, the Gambia will be plunged into a state of leadership vacuum. There is no potential successor lined up in the event of the unexpected.  A worst case scenario is for the military to take charge of business until the situation is normalized.
