Gambia: Editorial: A Tribute To The Late Ello Jallow
Editorial: A Tribute To The Late Ello Jallow

It’s exactly one year this past Thursday, when dictator Yahya Jammeh’s thugs hatched a plot to assassinate Sergeant Ello Gina Jallow of Niamina Malikunda.  Please join us to pay tribute to our fallen gallant soldier. Mr. Jallow used to be a personal bodyguard for Jammeh’s gold digger Moroccan wife Zeinab Suma Jammeh.  Ello’s inner knowledge about dictator Jammeh’s nefarious business activities: the dictator’s recently purchased multi-million dollars Potomac house in Maryland, marital woes, and suspicion of messing with his former call girl woman cost him his life.

Ello Jallow is gone, but he is not forgotten.  Like, all victims of Jammeh’s murder enterprise, we deem it crucially imperative to remind Ello’s  killers about the heinous crime they perpetrated against their former comrade on the day in question.

Acting in good faith; knowing full well how heartless Borra Colley, and his assassin team are, the unsuspecting Ello Jallow responded to an evening call from Colley for a private meeting appointment.  When he showed up at the secret meeting,  Mr. Jallow was taken by surprise by his colleagues who strangled him to death!

The late Ello Jallow, who was on his primetime as a youth man had his military career prematurely terminated.  His colleagues in the military are still trying to come to terms as to what would have warranted such a malicious move on the side of the Jammeh murder machine.

The soldier’s family were threatened about the risk associated with conducting an autopsy on Ello’s body—to establish the cause of death. Sergeant Jallow was buried without a postmortem exercise conducted by a certified pathologist on his remains.  The family yielded to pressure to let things go without bothering to search for their loved one’s killer(s).

The President made a personal donation of about D75,000 dalasi in sponsoring Ello’s funeral expenses.  A representative of the Jallow family received the money.

As a young neat soldier, Ello Jallow, was widely respected by his colleagues in the military.  His dedication to duty, and professional conduct earns him numerous awards prior to his demise. He was onetime named as “the best State House soldier.”

Ello, was a weaponry expert. This was evident on the trust and confidence bestowed on him by the Iranian military trainers in Kanilai. He was asked to head the training unit when the Iranians winded up their training program in Banjul.

A source who spoke to us shortly after Ello’s murder said: “ Ello knows too much. The President doesn’t like folks who know him too much. His wife Zeinab has personal liking for Ello. She wouldn’t want to travel without going with Ello. It reached a point that Ello was on Oga’s suspect list.”

Before his return to the Gambia from his US mission to provide security for the First Lady and her family, Ello was warned about his imminent arrest, or possible murder if he dares return home.  That doesn't  stop the soldier from returning home.

Ello’s case was largely aggravated due to  a brawl he (Ello)  and other soldiers were engaged in at Jammeh’s Potomac home. The incident had to do with a trespasser, who reportedly had an altercation with the First Lady’s guards.  The incident angered Jammeh.  He was the least pleased with the soldiers conduct.

The dictator thought that the incident could have spewed a media scrutiny here in the United States, which would lead to the disclosure of his hidden asset(s) in the US. The guards involved in the brawl were immediately recalled.

It’s important to note that the late Ello Jallow witnessed the sale transactions of the Jammeh Potomac residence.  The house was bought in raw cash—totaling to millions of US dollars.  How the First Lady amassed such a huge amount of US currency could be anyone’s guess? A third party Real-Estate dealer was used to finalize the property sale with Jammeh recruiting trustees to pose as a front for him.  The Potomac property is not registered in the name of Yahya Jammeh.

Perhaps, our American colleague at the Washington Post James will come up with a more detailed story about Jammeh’s Potomac home when he is done with his investigations.

It’s heartbreaking to learn that an African dictator will use trustees to buy such a luxurious house in the heart of Potomac Maryland without being detected by the US authorities.  Here is a guy, who openly confessed before a former US Ambassador assigned to the Gambia about his ties with drug cartels. Jammeh said he was offered three million dollars monthly wages to allow South American planes to drop off cocaine in the Gambia.

Lest we not forget that the Gambian dictator is a former close ally of Iran. Iran is working against the United State’s interest. Mr. Jammeh is a beneficiary of Iran’s arms trade. He was busted by the Nigerian authorities when he tried to use an Iranian Revolutionary Guard to traffic arms to his Kanilai Farms.

Mr. Jammeh is also closely working with Lebanese nationals linked to financing Hezbollah. A classical example is the Tajideen brothers.

The onus lies on the Obama administration to forfeit Jammeh’s Potomac residence,  including other shield secret asset(s) he owned in the US. The stolen Gambian money should be recovered and frozen  until such a time a credible Government is installed in that country. If the proceeds of Jammeh’s hidden assets are remitted to the Gambia, it will not reach to its people. The dictator virtually owns the country.
